Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali to Nyungwe
You'll leave Kigali early and head toward Nyungwe, making stops along the way to see historical sites. Kamegeri's rock and Nyanza King's Palace are both on the route, giving you a sense of the region's past. The drive takes you through changing landscapes before reaching your lodge in Nyungwe for the night.

Nyungwe
After breakfast, the day starts with a briefing at the Nyungwe Forest National Park offices where staff explain the different primates and park layout. From there, you'll walk through the tropical rainforest in the morning searching for chimpanzees, white and black colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys. You'll grab lunch back at the lodge, then head out in the evening for the canopy walk, which gets you closer to primates and birds in their natural habitat. Dinner and overnight follow.
