Beijing
You'll arrive at Beijing airport where your guide is waiting with a banner showing your name. From there, it's a comfortable drive to your hotel so you can rest up after your flight and settle in for the trip ahead.

Beijing
Start at Tiananmen Square, then head into the Forbidden City where 24 emperors lived and ruled. An included lunch comes next, after which you'll see the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon. This evening, catch an acrobatic show at the Red Theater.

Beijing
You'll take a cable car up to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall and enjoy a red wine toast with your group while you're up there. On the return trip, stop by the Olympic National Stadium (the Bird's Nest) for photos. Later, a rickshaw ride takes you through the original Hutong alleys where you'll visit with a local family.

Beijing to Xi'an
Morning starts at the Summer Palace, an imperial garden with lots to see. You'll have an included lunch, and then it's off to the train station for a high-speed train to Xi'an, which takes between 4.5 to 5.5 hours. Your driver and guide meet you in Xi'an and take you to your hotel.

- Day 5
Xi'an
Begin with a visit to the Terracotta Army, then you'll make your own small clay warrior at the original discoverer's home. In the afternoon, walk through the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. For dinner, you get a famous dumpling meal while watching the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show.

Lhasa
Three monasteries fill your day: Drepung Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist temples in the region, then Norbulingka Park, which served as the summer residence of the Dalai Lama. You'll finish at Sera Monastery, one of Tibet's three largest monasteries.

Wander through Barkhor Street where Tibetan religion, culture, and local crafts come together. Your day ends at a nunnery where you can observe the daily life of the nuns.
