Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu where an Oriental Journeys representative meets you. After handling customs, they'll transfer you to your hotel for the night to settle in.

Kathmandu UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Your guide picks you up this morning for a tour of four UNESCO World Heritage Sites around Kathmandu Valley. You'll check out Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhnath, then return to your hotel in the evening.

Kathmandu to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
You can either fly or drive to Biratnagar (the flight's about 35 minutes). From there it's a drive to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve where you'll check in. After lunch, you'll head out for some evening birding before dark.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve
You start with a nature walk led by your expert guide through the reserve. Next comes gentle wildlife rafting on the Sapta Koshi River, then lunch on the riverbank. The afternoon takes you to Koshi Barrage to look for birdlife and freshwater dolphins, and you're back at the hotel by evening.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Jeep Safari
After breakfast you'll head out on a full-day jeep safari through remote areas of Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. You might see waterfowl, birds of prey, marsh crocodiles, wild water buffalo, dolphins, and various duck and heron species. A packed lunch happens in the field, and you return to the hotel as evening comes.

You'll have breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Biratnagar Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Once you arrive, you transfer to your hotel to rest. Later that evening you can walk through Thamel Bazar, Kathmandu's main tourist area with shops and activity.

Kathmandu and Bhaktapur Sightseeing
Today takes you to artistic and historically significant locations in Kathmandu and the Bhaktapur district. You'll have time at shops to pick up souvenirs, Thankas, gifts, and other items from Nepal. By evening you're back at your Kathmandu hotel.
