Itinerary
- Day 1
Moshi/Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
You'll drive from Moshi or Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, which takes between 2 to 4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. After grabbing lunch, you head out on a game drive where monkeys hang around in the trees, elephants shelter under baobabs from the heat, and you'll see zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos scattered throughout the park. By evening you settle in at your lodge or campsite for the night.

Ngorongoro Crater
Early on you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a full day of game driving. The crater itself is 600 meters deep and stretches 16 kilometers across, covering 265 square kilometers total. You'll hunt for Tanzania's remaining black rhinos, lions, and cheetahs, plus elands, zebras, and gazelles roaming around roughly 20,000 large animals in the area. Stop by Makat Soda Lake to look for flamingos and other bird species throughout the day. Later in the afternoon you head back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
