Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    After landing at Tribhuwan International Airport, your Mountain Ascend Treks guide will meet you. If you're arriving in the evening or night, you'll head straight to your hotel. For day arrivals, there's a trip briefing at the office and you'll handle final payments. The rest of the day is yours to wander around Thamel, the busy tourist district near where you're staying, and get a feel for Kathmandu.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll fly from Kathmandu to Lukla on a twin otter aircraft, which is quite the experience as it approaches Tenzing-Hillary Airport at the gateway to Mt. Everest. Once you land, the trek starts through lush forests and rolling hills. You'll walk through valleys with views of Kusum Kangru mountain and reach Phakding by the end of the day.

  3. Day 3

    Phakding to Namche

    From Phakding, trek to Namche following the Dudh Koshi River as it flows through pine and cedar forests. You'll pass through several ethnic Sherpa villages along the way and gradually ascend to Namche, which is the largest Sherpa village in Nepal. This spot has been historically important where Tibetan and Nepali traders met up, and today it's full of shops and restaurants.

  4. Day 4

    Acclimatization

    This is an acclimatization day, so you're staying in Namche but doing some hiking to help your body adjust. Hike up to Syangboche Airport at 3700m/12,139 feet, possibly the world's highest airport, then continue on to Everest View Hotel where you get views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam and Tawache. Head back and stop at the Sherpa Culture Museum to learn about local traditions and see historical Everest photos.

  5. Day 5

    Namche to Tengboche

    Trek from Namche to Tengboche, which takes about 5 hours and involves quite a bit of uphill walking. The route dips into the Dudh Kosi Valley first before you start climbing. By the time you arrive at Tengboche, you'll see the famous monastery and have views of Ama Dablam and Mt. Everest right there in front of you.

  6. Day 6

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    Walk through forests and along the Imja Khola river, passing the village of Pangbocje with mountain views the whole way. Cross through Summer Valley pasture on your way to Dingboche. The peaks here including Ama Dablam and Lhotse are visible throughout the day if conditions are clear.

  7. Day 7

    Dingboche to Nagerjun

    Trek steeply uphill from Dingboche to Nagerjun, a hillside village perched above Dingboche on the flank of Chukkung Valley. The route is challenging and steep, but once you reach the summit you get panoramic views of Lobuche peaks, Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam and Makalu, the world's fifth highest mountain.

  8. Day 8

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    Head upward from Dingboche toward Khumbu Glacier where you'll see prayer flags and memorials left for climbers and guides. Continue across rocky moraine terrain surrounded by major peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. Later you'll descend to yak pasture near Lobuche for the night.

  9. Day 9

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep

    Trek past Gorak Shep Lake and keep going upward through rocky terrain, moraine and streams until you reach Everest Base Camp. The air is thin here and the views include Nuptse, Khumbuste, Pumori, Khumbu Glacier and the Icefall. After spending time at base camp, you'll descend back to Gorakshep for your overnight stay.

  10. Day 10

    Gorakshep to Kalapathar to Kathmandu

    Hike to Kalapathar early to catch golden hour light on Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks like Lingtren, Khumbutse and Changtse. This is the best viewpoint in the Everest Region. After taking in the views, descend through Gorekshep and Pheriche, then fly back to Kathmandu.

  11. Day 11

    Kathmandu Departure

    This is your last day of the trek. You'll transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport about 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure. Mountain Ascend Treks will stay in touch with you via email after your tour ends.

    Look no further! This is the company that you want. I’m a very experienced traveller, and I am SO impressed! They cover trekking and biking in Nepal. I went on a trek to Base Camp, then on to a High Pass, and back, we also did a few days in Kathmandu. Pleasingly they maintained safety as their highest priority. Then it was trekkers’ enjoyment/satisfaction/health as their second highest priority. Everyday started and ended with a smile. I don’t speak Nepali; their guide’s English was excellent, and even the porters (who were ethnically Sherpa) had more than enough for friendly interactions. I knew our gear was in safe hands. The distance they asked us to trek each day was sensible and achievable. The places they (carefully) chose for us to stop had wonderful food, very needed after a day’s trek. They were clean and staffed by the friendliest hosts that I’ve stayed with. Naturally the higher you go the more basic the accommodation, but you have to except that in the mountains. The guides being local really knew the mountain, and had lots of info to impart. One thing I particularly liked about our guide was how he monitored our well being. If he noticed an individual was sluggish he quietly checked on them. Altitude sickness can come on quickly, so this extra touch was very reassuring. When one my friends fell, the guide got to him in milli-seconds to assist, I still can’t believe how fast he was. Payments systems and communication before the trip were professional, as an extra bonus their website has so much useful information. Do read it. They really went over and above what you would expect from a trekking company, 5 stars is not enough. I 100% recommend them.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 17th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 17th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with Mountain Ascend Treks Pvt. Ltd.. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
