Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Imlil to Azib n Tamsoult
You'll transfer from Marrakech and head into the Atlas Mountains toward Imlil, which sits at 1740m and serves as the main launch point for mountain treks in the area. The hike takes you up to Tizi-n-Mezzik pass at 2489m, and from there you get good views over the Imlil area and down into the Azzaden valley. After the cook prepares lunch in a juniper forest, you'll walk back down through the valley to reach Azib n Tamsoult, a summer settlement at 2250m. The whole day involves about 5 hours of walking, so it's a moderate introduction to the terrain and altitude.
