Entebbe to Kampala
Your driver-guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport and transfers you to Kampala in a safari jeep. If your arrival allows, there's time for an afternoon city tour around the capital. You'll check in at Marie's Royal Hotel, have dinner, and settle in for your first night.

Kampala to Kibale Forest National Park
Head out toward Kibale Forest National Park, stopping in Fort Portal for lunch. The drive takes you through villages and tea plantations with chances to stop and look around. After checking in at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge near the crater lake bordering the forest, you'll have time to relax before dinner.

Kibale Forest National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start early for the morning chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest. You'll see over 1,500 chimps and nine other monkey species, plus various birds in the canopy above. After the trek, transfer toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, possibly passing through the Rwenzori Mountain Range or crater lakes region. Arrive at your lodge with views over the park.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Take an evening game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, warthogs, and hyenas. The salt lakes here attract spectacular flocks of flamingoes, and you'll have time to watch as the sun starts to set over the landscape.

- Day 5
Kazinga Channel
After breakfast, head out on a morning game drive to catch the early risers moving through the park. Later, following lunch at the lodge, you'll embark on a two-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, the 36km waterway connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. Watch for hippopotamuses and Nile crocodiles from the water.

Landmarks Kazinga Channel - Day 6
Ishasha Sector to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Travel through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to look for tree-climbing lions resting in fig tree branches, then continue transferring to Bwindi. The scenery shifts from flat savanna to cultivated hills and eventually jungle-covered mountains. If you arrive early, optional activities include visiting a local orphanage or meeting with community members.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have an early breakfast before the tour highlight: gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A specialized guide leads you through beautiful forest terrain where you'll spend one hour with mountain gorillas. The forest also hosts numerous bird species, butterflies, various plant life, forest hogs, and elephants throughout the landscape.

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, known for its zebra population. You'll arrive in time for lunch at the lodge, then head out for an afternoon game drive to see zebras, topis, warthogs, cape buffalo, and impalas moving across the landscape.

Lake Mburo National Park to Kampala
Rise early for a morning safari walk at daybreak to look for leopards, zebras, waterbucks, buffalo, and various birds. Visit a hyena's den before returning for breakfast at the lodge. Then drive back to Kampala with lunch stops in Masaka and at the equator along the way.

Kampala to Mabamba Swamp
Your guide picks you up in the morning for a visit to Mabamba Swamp south of Entebbe. Small boats take you out to search for the rare shoebill stork, plus lesser jacana, marsh harriers, African pygmy-goose, and whistling ducks. Seasonally you might spot blue swallows and blue-breasted bee-eaters. You'll return to Entebbe to finish at the airport or your hotel.
