Itinerary
- Day 1
Moshi/Arusha to Ngaresero Village
You'll depart early from either Moshi or Arusha and spend roughly 8 hours driving to Ngaresero Village, which sits near Lake Natron. A packed lunch is included during the journey. Once you arrive at the campsite or lodge, you'll have dinner and settle in for the night. Later in the evening, you'll start heading up Ol Doinyo Lengai, a volcano that's unique because it's the only one on Earth erupting natrocarbonatite lava and happens to be Tanzania's most active volcano.

Ol Doinyo Lengai Ascent and Descent
This is an early start, so you'll wake at 1am for tea and biscuits. From there, you'll drive to the mountain's base and begin climbing Ol Doinyo Lengai, timing your ascent to reach the peak right as the sun comes up. After watching the sunrise from the summit of this sacred Maasai mountain, you'll make your way back down and return to the campsite for rest.
