Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
A representative will meet you at Kathmandu airport with your nameplate and drive you to your hotel in Thamel. During the transfer, you'll pass by Pashupatinath temple, the Royal Palace Museum, and the Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, you'll have time to walk around the streets of Thamel, the main tourist district with plenty of shops and restaurants.

Kathmandu
Your private guide and vehicle pick you up early for a full day of sightseeing around the city. You'll start at Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the ancient wood-carved temples, then head to Swyambhunath where you get panoramic views across the valley and toward the Himalayan ranges. From there, continue to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the largest Hindu pilgrimage sites in the region, where you can watch cremation ceremonies along the Bagmati River. Later, visit Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO site originally built around 600 A.D., before heading back to your hotel to rest.

Kathmandu to Phakding
You'll catch a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla in the morning, where your trek begins. From there, the trail climbs through rhododendron forests and oak trees along the Dudh Koshi River. You'll pass through local villages as you make your way to Phakding, a small town where you'll spend the night in a traditional lodge.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
The trek starts relatively easy but gets more challenging as the day goes on. You'll cross the Dudh Koshi river and catch your first view of Mount Everest. Around midday, you'll stop for lunch in Monjo, then the terrain becomes steeper. As you climb toward Namche Bazaar, the trail turns vertical and the altitude can make breathing difficult, so you'll need to take steady, slow steps. By evening, you'll arrive at Namche Bazaar, a busy town with shops, restaurants, hotels, and internet access.

Namche Bazaar
Today is an acclimatization day, so you'll have time to explore the area around Namche. Most trekkers wake before sunrise to see views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, and Amadablam from nearby viewpoints. You might try salt-butter tea and champa, traditional foods eaten by local Sherpas. If it's Saturday, the market in town fills with traders selling local goods and supplies.

Namche Bazaar to Thame
After an early breakfast, you'll head toward Thame village prepared for temperature swings throughout the day. The first few hours are relatively flat with great mountain views, then you'll reach Thame village. Near Nauje you'll visit a small monastery home to Tibetan nuns with a large prayer wheel decorated in bright colors. You'll have lunch by the monastery, then take an afternoon walk to help your body adjust to the altitude.

Thame to Khumjung
Start early and climb uphill to the monastery above Thame Village. On clear days, you'll see where natural landscape meets ancient Buddhist Sherpa culture. After the visit, head back down to Namche Bazaar and continue toward Khumbila. The path gradually widens and slopes gently as you approach Khumjung, following the mountain's edge. This village sits at the foot of the sacred peak Khumbila, home to a monastery established about 340 years ago that holds a famous Yeti artifact.

Khumjung to Pangboche
You'll trek along the old Everest Expedition Trail where you might see Himalayan wildlife like deer, pheasants, and monkeys. The path climbs through forests with juniper bushes that smell pleasant and offer nice views of the surrounding mountain ranges. After several hours, you'll reach Pangboche where you'll spend the night.

- Day 9
Pangboche to Dingboche
Today's trek heads toward Dingboche at 4410 meters elevation, which is challenging because of the altitude and rocky ground. You'll walk through forests with birch, conifers, and rhododendrons, often passing yak herds. The trail descends to Deboche where you'll cross a suspension bridge over the Imja River, then climbs again to Dingboche. You'll see a white stupa with painted eyes that reflect Amadablam, a great spot for photos. Continuing above the tree line through open grazing lands with yaks, you'll reach Dingboche Valley by evening.

Dingboche
After breakfast, you'll climb Chhukung Ri at 5550 meters. The hike is steep but the views at the top make it worthwhile, giving you access to peaks like Choyu, Pumori, Lhotse, Amadablam, Makalu, and Baruntse. These panoramas give you a sense of what lies ahead on the trail.

Dingboche to Lobuche
This is a longer trekking day than previous ones. You'll cross Kongma La at 5400 meters, then descend into the Niyang Khola Valley. After that, you'll reach the edge of the Khumbu Glacier, where the terrain becomes easier as you walk across it. Later in the afternoon, you'll arrive at Lobuche where you'll spend the night.

Lobuche to Dzongla
Today you'll trek down to Dzongla through a winding trail, which takes around 7 to 8 hours total. Dzongla is a small settlement located below the Cho La Pass. Along the way, you'll see Cho La Lake and get some of the best views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Amadablam, Thamserku, and Mera Peak.

Dzongla to Dragnag
The trail heads toward Cho La Pass at 5368 meters, which involves a steep and challenging climb over rocky terrain that takes about 3 hours. At the top, you'll see Amadablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Baruntse, and Cholatse nearby. After crossing the pass, you'll walk over glaciers with snow and ice for roughly an hour, rest after lunch, then descend about 3 hours through rocky paths to reach Dragnag.

Dragnag to Gokyo
After breakfast, you'll trek for about 1.5 hours with an uphill start that gradually becomes easier. You'll have views of Gokyo Lake and the surrounding area. Once you arrive, you'll rest at the lodge, then take a short climb to a ridge where you can see views across the glacier and the small glacial lakes below.

Gokyo
Many trekkers consider this the best day on the trail, even though it's technically a rest day since you'll actively explore the area. You'll hike to Gokyo Ri, a hill north of Dudh Pokhari at 5360 meters, taking 2 to 3 hours. From the summit, you can see Choyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche, and the Ngozumpa Glacier. Alternatively, you could hike up the Gokyo Valley past two or three more glacial lakes toward Choyu.

Gokyo to Lungdun
You'll start early and head up the trail west of Gokyo Lake toward Renjo La Pass at 5415 meters. After roughly 3 hours of climbing a steep sandy ridge, you'll reach the pass with views of Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche, all peaks between 7000 and 8000 meters high. You'll follow stone stairs south to Angladumba Tsho, a small quiet lake. After another 4 hours of walking, you'll arrive at Lungdun at 4380 meters.

Lungdun to Namche Bazaar
After breakfast, you'll walk downhill through rhododendron forest. Once you reach the bottom, you'll cross a suspension bridge then climb steeply through pine and juniper forest to Khumjung. After resting, you'll walk around the village, then continue after lunch back toward Namche Bazaar where you'll spend the night.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
After breakfast at your teahouse in Namche Bazaar, you'll start the trek back to Lukla with lunch served along the way. Once you arrive in Lukla, you'll rest and recharge for the day. You'll have time to think back on your trekking journey over the past week and talk with other trekkers about your experiences.

Lukla to Kathmandu
After breakfast, you'll fly back to Kathmandu. Flight times can vary depending on weather conditions in the mountains. When you land at Kathmandu airport, a representative will meet you and drive you to your hotel in a private vehicle.

Patan and Bhaktapur
Today you'll visit two ancient cities near Kathmandu: Patan and Bhaktapur. In Patan, you'll see UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square, then check out the Patan Museum to learn about the city's history and its past rulers. You'll also visit the Golden Temple, important to both Hindus and Buddhists, and the Banglamukhi Temple. Later, you'll head to Bhaktapur to see the well-preserved architectural structures with their historical character and intricately carved wooden details. You'll tour Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another UNESCO site, and climb Nyatopola Temple, one of the tallest temples in Nepal. After a full day, you'll return to Kathmandu for the evening.

Kathmandu Departure
Your trip ends today. After breakfast, a representative will pick you up in a private van and take you to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport around 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure.
