Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    A representative meets you at Kathmandu airport and drives you to your hotel in Thamel. Along the way, you'll see Pashupatinath Temple, the Royal Palace Museum, and the Garden of Dreams. Once you arrive at your hotel, you have the rest of the day to walk around Thamel and get a feel for the neighborhood.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu Valley Heritage Sites

    After breakfast, a guide takes you around Kathmandu in a private vehicle for the day. You'll start at Kathmandu Durbar Square, which has intricately carved wooden temples and historic buildings. Then you head to Swyambhunath, also called the Monkey Temple, for views over the valley. Next is Pashupatinath Temple, one of the largest Hindu pilgrimage sites where you might see traditional cremation ceremonies. You'll also check out Guweyswori Temple nearby, then spend time at Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO site from around 600 A.D. where you can relax before heading back to your hotel by evening.

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

    You drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara on a scenic road through green hills. Pokhara sits on Fewa Lake with Himalayan peaks visible on clear days. During the day, you visit David's Waterfall, Gupteswor Mahadev cave, and the International Mountain Museum. The drive takes several hours, so you'll arrive with time to settle in.

  4. Day 4

    Trek to Galeshwor and Bans Kharka

    After breakfast, you're driven to Galeshwor on the Kali Gandaki River. From Bans Kharka, the trek to Galeshwor takes about 3 hours. On the way, you cross a suspension bridge over the river's deep gorge and walk through forest before arriving at Bans Kharka for the night.

  5. Day 5

    Trek to Naangi Village

    Today's trek goes to Naangi, taking 6 to 7 hours from Bans Kharka. You'll pass through small villages and see mountain views along the route. The day includes stops at an organic farm school and the Magar Settlement, both giving you a chance to see how people live in this region.

  6. Day 6

    Trek to Mohare Danda

    You hike through oak and rhododendron forests on the way to Mohare Danda. Throughout the day, you'll see Mt. Fishtail, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, and Tukche. By evening, you watch the sunset from Mohare Danda viewpoint before staying at an eco-community lodge.

  7. Day 7

    Mohare Danda to Ghorepani

    Start early to catch sunrise and see Mt. Fishtail, Dhaulagiri II, Tukche, South Annapurna, and Nilgiri. The trek to Ghorepani takes about 5 hours, with a mix of uphill and downhill sections. You arrive at the lodge and have time to rest.

  8. Day 8

    Poon Hill Sunrise and Trek to Ghandruk

    Leave very early to reach Poon Hill at 3210 meters and see the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Back in Ghorepani, you have breakfast before the trek to Ghandruk Village, which takes 6 to 7 hours. The route goes through fields, forests, and farming areas, crossing a suspension bridge over Khumbu Khola. From the village viewpoint, you get mountain views and experience local hospitality.

    Your last trekking day has you descending to Nayapul in about 5 hours on stone paths through terraced farms. After crossing Modi Khola, you reach Birethanti, then it's a short 30-minute walk to Nayapul where your driver is waiting. You're driven back to Pokhara and dropped at your hotel to rest.

  10. Day 10

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    You drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu through hills and green slopes. Once there, you have free time to walk through Thamel and shop for souvenirs. It's a good chance to pick up gifts before your last night in the city.

  11. Day 11

    Patan, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu Valley Heritage

    Your guide takes you to Patan, an ancient city in the Kathmandu Valley. You visit Patan Durbar Square, Krishna Temple, and the Patan Museum to learn about the city's history. Then you check out the Golden Temple, which Hindus and Buddhists both use. After that, you head to Bhaktapur to see the old wood-carved buildings and the Nyatapola Temple, one of Nepal's largest. You have the option to try a pottery-making class at Pottery Square using traditional methods.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 5th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 5th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
