- MTMarco· April 1st, 2025Unfortunately, I didn't receive the link for immigration, and there was no way to withdraw Bolivian currency (it should have been stated at the Booking Confirmation that you can and must exchange money for Bolivian currency in San Pedro at a money exchange). My tour guide therefore had to lend me the money until we arrived in Uyuni! The hostel in San Pedro Aji Verde was very nice, but there were too many beds in the rooms (no room for backpacks; they were all on the floor, and you had to climb over them!) the hostel in Villa Mar the bed was Horrible to sleep like a hammock! salt hotel was greatShow more
Hi Travel Argentina commented on this reviewThank you for your honest feedback Marco, we’re glad you enjoyed parts of the experience, especially the Salt Hotel and the support from your guide. Hi Travel Argentina commented on this reviewThank you for your review!Trip date: August 2024 - OIOrell· October 21st, 2023Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishThe transfer from Calama airport (we were traveling by bus) was not possible despite several contacts at the last moment and we had to organize the transfer ourselves. Otherwise, however, the organization was impeccable, beforehand because of the communication not always clear, but during the tour everything worked. Backpackers Hostel in San Pedro is simply brilliant with Fabiola at the reception. The 3-day tour from San Pedro to Uyuni with our guides (Fernando and Eluterio) although they could not speak English, was fantastic.Show more
Hi Travel Argentina commented on this reviewThank you for your feedback Orell, we're very glad to hear you enjoyed the tour overall and had a great experience with the team in San Pedro and on the journey to Uyuni. We do apologize for the confusion regarding the Calama transfer. While we try to... Show moreTrip date: October 2023 - CHChris· February 18th, 2023The good: the scenery is fairly impressive and our driver spoke no English but he was super friendly and a very safe and careful driver. The bad: the transport, the accommodation, the food. Let’s start with the transport. I will preface this by saying our driver was amazing. He was very safe and very friendly (although he spoke no English and we spoke almost no Spanish, so communication was a little challenging). However this poor man had to drive a beat up, decades old Land Cruiser, stuffed to the brim with seven people and our luggage. There were only three operational seatbelts, a smashed windscreen, weak a/c and apparently the back brakes didn’t work, so our driver had to keep the hand-break halfway up and continuously get out of the car in the snow/rain to tighten them. Our driver was working so hard to keep us safe, especially in 4WD and snowy conditions, but honestly a working seatbelt would’ve been nice. Now for the accommodation. Unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot in the areas you travel through on this tour so we already had low expectations, and boy were we disappointed. In particular the lack of heating, hot water, towels and even toilet paper were surprising but the rooms were generally clean despite the paint that was peeling of the ceilings. Comfort was of course at an all time low, so if you do choose to take this tour I would encourage you to pack toilet paper, several layers of warm/thermal clothing and a pillow so you don’t have to use a bag of dirty clothes like we did. Now the food. Just add snacks and water to the above packing list and you’ll be fine. If you have dietary restrictions - good luck! On the positive side, there are great dining options in La Paz, so we made up for three days of malnutrition once we arrived there. In summary, if you want to see the scenery between San Pedro de Atacama and Uyuni then you just need to be prepared to rough it for a few nights, but I would book direct with those operators to save several hundred dollars. For the San Pedro de Atacama stint at the beginning, book some decent accommodation and avoid the outrageous markup on a s***** hostel.Show more

Asked on September 16th, 2025How does the self-guided tour work? Are we driving the cars ourself or are we being driven but there isn't a guide that is explaining?
Hi Travel ArgentinaOperator•Written September 2025The tour does not work like a group tour with a guide, but everything is pre organized and pre booked for you. It is an independent trip but in this case it is mixed as the overland part from San Pedro to Uyuni is in small groups of up to 6 travelers.
Hi Travel ArgentinaOperator•Written September 2025Overland is: there is a driver but no one is explaining. The landscape is so awesome that you dont really miss the explanation. Only advise: tour reaches very high altitude and you need to take certain measures to diminish the symptoms of altitude sickness.

Asked on August 28th, 2025Is tour available on Dec 28
Hi Travel ArgentinaOperator•Written August 2025Yes, we can arrange for this tour to start on December 28, we just have to check availability first. But you should know that we don't work with group tours nor do we have a guide/coordinator for the whole trip. Different guides for different tours included. Were you interested in Dorm, Hostel or Hotel accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama? Are there 4 adults or any children?

Asked on April 15th, 2025Do you offer a small group tour from La Paz - Uyuni - Tahua - Siloli - finishing and dropped off to motel in Atacama?
Hi Travel ArgentinaOperator•Written April 2025We don't have the whole tour in small groups. We can tailor make it for you. In La Paz and Uyuni town, you will be on your own. From Uyuni to San Pedro, if you join the small group, accomodation will be in a Salt Hostel and in a comunal hostel in Villamar or in Laguna Colorada. In San Perdro, on your own again. If your idea is to stay in 3* hotels instead of hostels during the Uyuni - San Pedro Overland, then the tur woll be in private just for you 2, at a higher price.
