Later, make your way to Coptic Cairo to walk through this historic district and see ancient Christian churches and sites. Alexandria
Take a full day trip to Alexandria, starting with the Catacombs, an underground burial site that shows the blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman influences. Next, visit Pompey's Pillar, a massive limestone column that stands in the Serapeum archaeological area. Then check out the Library of Alexandria, which is a modern recreation of the ancient library and includes exhibits about its historical significance. You'll also explore the Citadel, a 15th-century fortress by the waterfront. Lunch is included with your tour, so you won't need to worry about finding a restaurant (usually around noon or 1 PM depending on the tour schedule). The drive back to Cairo takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, so plan to return to your hotel by evening.

Saqqara - Dashur
Begin at the Giza plateau where you'll see the three main pyramids and the Great Sphinx, which sits on the plateau overlooking the monuments. You can walk around the area to get different views and photos (comfortable shoes are important here). After spending 2 to 3 hours in Giza, travel to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Zoser, one of Egypt's oldest stone structures dating back thousands of years. The site includes temples and courtyards you can explore around the pyramid. Then continue south to Dashur to view the Red Pyramid, recognizable by its reddish-hued limestone blocks. This pyramid is less crowded than Giza and offers a more peaceful experience. The drive between each site takes 30 to 45 minutes, so plan for a full day of travel and sightseeing.
