Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
You'll get picked up at Tribhuvan International Airport and driven to your hotel in Kathmandu, which takes about 30 minutes. After you drop your bags and settle in, there's time to rest or stop by the Nepal Guide Treks office if you want to get oriented. That evening, the tour operator hosts a welcome dinner to kick things off.

- Day 2
Kathmandu
This day focuses on UNESCO World Heritage sites around Kathmandu Valley. You'll check out 3-4 selected locations and handle all the paperwork needed for the Chulu East Peak climb. Since there's too much to see in one day, you'll pick which sites appeal to you most before heading out.

- Day 3
Kathmandu to Chamje
An 8-9 hour drive takes you from Kathmandu toward the mountains. The route follows the scenic Trishuli River through Dumre, then shifts to the Marsyangdi River valley. You'll wind through mountain roads, pass through Besisahar, and arrive at Chamje where your trek actually begins.

Chamje to Dharapani
Your first trekking day covers 5-6 hours starting from Chamje. You cross a suspension bridge early on, then climb through dense rhododendron forests and past terraced fields. The trail takes you through Sattale to Tal village, marking your entry into Manang district. After another suspension bridge crossing, you head uphill through Karte village and finish at Dharapani, a Gurung settlement.

- Day 5
Dharapani to Chame
Today's 5-6 hour trek from Dharapani takes you through an area affected by past landslides. Along the way, you'll pass a village school where local kids often come out to say hello. The trail climbs through forest toward Bagarchhap, which has a distinctive Tibetan feel. From there, you walk the river's left bank to Koto and then reach Chame, Manang's main administrative hub with shops and places to eat.

Chame to Pisang
You'll trek 5-6 hours heading west from Chame along the river. A suspension bridge crossing leads to Dhukur Pokhari, where the landscape opens up and snow-capped peaks come into clear view. Continuing on, you reach Pisang with nice views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna II rising above the valley.

Pisang to Yak Kharka
This 5-6 hour trek follows a relatively straightforward path through thinner pine and juniper forests toward Humde village. After a brief stop, the trail continues toward Julu Khola and finishes at Yak Kharka, a solid camping location. Throughout the day, Pisang Peak and the Annapurna range stay visible in the distance.

Yak Kharka to Base Camp
A short but tough 4-5 hour day as you climb steeply toward base camp at 5,140 meters. The trail starts with a gradual climb then gets significantly steeper. Taking frequent breaks helps you manage the effort. When you arrive, your Sherpa team sets up camp and gets gear ready for the higher altitude pushes ahead.

- Day 9
Base Camp Acclimatization
You stay put at base camp above 5,000 meters to let your body adjust to the altitude. This rest day is really important for preventing altitude sickness before your summit attempt. Your guides can recommend some lighter hikes in the area if you want to move around and help your acclimatization process.

Base Camp to High Camp
After resting, you trek 3-4 hours up steep snow slopes to establish high camp. The route is often snow-covered and icy, so you'll need crampons the whole way. The Annapurna ranges including Pisang Peak, Chulu West, and Chulu Far East provide incredible views. Before settling in, your Sherpa crew checks all climbing equipment and makes sure everything's ready for tomorrow.

- Day 11
Chulu East Peak Summit
Summit day arrives. You start early in full climbing gear after proper acclimatization, aiming to reach the 6,584-meter peak before midday when afternoon winds pick up and make things difficult. Your experienced guide leads you through technical sections. From the top, you see Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, Chulu West and other surrounding peaks spread out below. After spending time taking in the views, you descend back to base camp.

Base Camp to Ledar
Following breakfast at base camp, your return trek begins with 5-6 hours of walking. You gradually descend through alpine vegetation, cross open fields and summer grazing areas, and arrive at Ledar for the night.

Ledar to Thorong Phedi
A 4-5 hour downhill trek from Ledar takes you toward a wooden bridge crossing Kone Khola. After crossing, there's a bit of uphill walking, then the trail becomes pleasant and relaxed toward Thorong Phedi. This spot has plenty of teahouses and services for your overnight stay.

- Day 14
Thorong Phedi to Muktinath
Start before dawn for the tough 7-8 hour crossing of Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters. The climb goes steeply toward a watercourse, through a large gully carved by snowmelt from Thorong Peak, across rolling moraine terrain to the pass. From the top, you get great views of the Annapurna ranges to the south and Mukut Himal to the west. The descent is steep down to grassy meadows and Muktinath, a significant pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Muktinath to Jomsom
Your final trekking day runs 5-6 hours from Muktinath to Jomsom. Rather than using the motor road, you follow a small irrigation stream toward Jharkot village, then continue to Khingar before taking the road route into Jomsom, Mustang's main administrative center. That evening, you celebrate finishing the Chulu East Peak climb.

- Day 16
Jomsom to Pokhara
After breakfast, you catch a scenic 25-minute flight to Pokhara. Once you land, a transfer takes you to your hotel where you can rest or wander around the city. If you feel like it, optional activities include boating on Fewa Lake or visiting some of the sacred sites around town.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
A 4-5 hour drive connects Pokhara back to Kathmandu. Once you arrive, there's time to rest at your hotel or check out the busy shopping streets in Thamel. That evening, you get together for a farewell dinner celebrating your successful Chulu East Peak climb.
