Chhomrong to Himalaya
Today's trek takes 5 to 6 hours as you move through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests, descending steeply to the Chhomrong Khola river before climbing again. You'll pass through Sinuwa, Bamboo, Dovan, and then Himalaya, crossing suspension bridges over rushing rivers along the way. The forest scenery changes noticeably as you gain roughly 750 meters in elevation. The varied vegetation and dramatic water crossings make this a day of constant visual interest, though the steep sections require steady effort.

- Day 3
Himalaya to Annapurna Base Camp
This is the most demanding and rewarding day of the trek. You'll trek 6 to 7 hours covering about 10 kilometers to reach Annapurna Base Camp at 4,200 meters. The route climbs steeply through rhododendron and bamboo forests to Deurali, then continues through a glacial valley toward Machapuchare Base Camp. From there, the path ascends through alpine meadows and glacial moraines, where you finally see the full Annapurna massif and surrounding Himalayan peaks. The altitude and distance make this challenging, but reaching base camp brings the entire trek into perspective.

Landmarks Annapurna I Annapurna South Hiunchuli Machapuchare - Day 4
Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
You'll descend 5 to 6 hours over about 12 kilometers from Annapurna Base Camp, starting through alpine meadows and glacial moraines back to Machapuchare Base Camp. After that, the descent continues through increasingly vegetated terrain past Deurali, moving back into forested regions with rhododendron and bamboo. Stone steps and steep sections make this a technical day downhill, but the changing views as you lose altitude keep things interesting. By late afternoon, you'll reach Bamboo with the landscape noticeably greener than what you saw higher up.

After arriving in Chhomrong, the descent continues through terraced fields and forests to reach Jhinudanda. The day finishes on a relaxing note as you spend time soaking in the natural hot springs here, which have warm mineral-rich waters and offer a peaceful setting by the river. Your legs will appreciate the chance to recover.
