Itinerary
- Day 1
Casablanca to Chefchaouen
You'll get picked up from your hotel in Casablanca and drive to Rabat to see Hassan Tower, which is an unfinished minaret that's pretty impressive. From there, wander through the Oudaya Kasbah and you'll get nice views of the Atlantic Ocean from the narrow streets. After that, head to Chefchaouen, the blue city in the Rif Mountains. The whole town is painted in shades of blue, so you'll walk around the blue-washed buildings and check out the local markets before settling in for the night.

Chefchaouen to Fes
Head out to Volubilis, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site with Roman ruins that are well-preserved. The mosaics and ancient structures give you a real sense of what was there hundreds of years ago. Then you'll continue to Meknes, a former imperial city with grand gates and palaces. Before you get to Fes for the night, you'll see the Bab Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, which are both pretty significant historically.

Fes
After breakfast, you'll join a guide who knows the history of Fes really well. You'll see Madrasa El Bouinania with its Marinid architecture, then check out the El Quaraoiyin mosque and University, which has been operating continuously for a really long time. The Pottery Village is next, followed by Nejjarine Square, the South Tower, and the king's residence. Later in the day, you'll have free time to walk around on your own before staying overnight.

Fes to Merzouga
You'll leave Fes early and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, which has a cooler climate and alpine-style architecture. The drive continues through cedar forests where you might spot Barbary macaques. As you get closer to Merzouga Desert, the landscape shifts to rolling golden dunes. In the late afternoon, you'll do a two-hour camel trek at sunset into the dunes, then arrive at a desert camp for dinner and a night listening to Berber music under the stars.

Merzouga to Dades Valley
Watch the sunrise paint the desert dunes gold, then have breakfast. After that, head to Todgha Gorge where towering canyon walls and a clear river create a pretty dramatic setting. You'll walk through the narrow gorge, then continue to Dades Valley with its rock formations, oases, and villages. The geological formations like Monkey Fingers are really interesting to see. You'll overnight at a traditional riad in the valley.

Dades Valley to Marrakech
You'll start with breakfast, then visit Atlas Studio to see the sets and props from famous movies and TV shows. Head to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a mud-brick village that's a UNESCO site and was used as a film location. Next is Telouet Kasbah, an old palace with ornate rooms and carved details. The drive to Marrakech takes you through the High Atlas Mountains with Berber villages and green valleys full of orchards. You'll arrive in Marrakech and check into your accommodation.
