- Tim· August 3rd, 2024If it wasn't for having three really great guides on this tour I would have given it only one star. Mongolia was and is an amazing hidden Gem in this world and I encourage people to go there and see its splendor for themselves. The people are amazing, the places and climate is quite brutal at times but still and experience to cherish... But, Choose your tour operator wisely. TTR Informed me that I would have to pay an additional sum the morning I was flying out? This I learned through 3 other travelers was something they had asked of others as well despite having these additional accommodation and Taxi expenses already prepaid. (This had to be cleared up forcefully) Additionally, the itinerary advertised and paid for was not the itinerary delivered. On the contrary, each traveler and even our guides had alternating versions of the itinerary which made planning, execution and above all else made managing our expectations very difficult. From day one of the tour, it was clear that TTR was more concerned about budgets and money than the health, safety and well being of it's travelers. There was no First aid kit, faulty and No PPE provided for the Horse riding. The Accommodation was at times very questionable, unsafe and unsanitary. On the first day there were appalling conditions in the toilets and showers, and in the days that followed we sometimes had to endure no showers at all and squat toilets (hole in ground and balancing on two planks) which in some cases didn't even offer the dignity of a door for privacy.) On one occasion in a hotel I found feces on the wall, scum in the sinks, dust and grit on the floor, blood and hair between my sheets. On one occasion the toilets blocked up completely, and FYI, Hot water was a rare luxury. One one occasion our guides removed us early from a place which had a very filthy kitchen. (Note: None of these conditions were mentioned in the Trip Details so my expectations were not managed) We did manage to avoid some of these foul conditions by moving on to other less filthy places at our own cost and on several occasions it was our guides who found better alternatives and diverted us from other filthy places. Additionally, our Guides were struggling at times to get funding for Petrol, water, food etc, which TTR was drip feeding to them on a semi daily basis. At one point the Director was not contactable and funds dried up so we paid for our own Petrol too. This tour was very poorly designed, managed and executed. TTR was very unprofessional with their dealings with the tour guides and tourists. The Director was at times abusive towards the guides and myself. Traveler beware... I don't recommend anyone travel with TTR unless you're into that kind of thing. But, OMG! Do go to Mongolia. The country is amazing and the young population there are just so friendly, outgoing and fun to be around. The time I spent in UB, the HU concert, the Reindeer festival, Nadaam and the Gobi desert are memories that'll last a lifetime. Loves Mongolia..Show moreTrip date: June 2024

Asked on January 18th, 2024How much experience is needed for the horseback riding? How long are the rides? Are most days full if activities? From the itinerary it seems so. I am interested in this trip because it looks like we get to do a lot. I am a photographer and hoping for lots of photo ops.
- TTRMongoliaOperator•Written January 2024

Could you provide more information on the horseback riding, is it suitable for someone who hasn't rode a horse before? How long will we be riding the horse for and how fast?
- TTRMongoliaOperator•Written December 2023

Asked on April 18th, 2022Do you have to be very physically fit for this tour?
- TTRMongoliaOperator•Written April 2022
If you have ridden a horse before, it is very good. It is possible to start the trip with at least 2 travelers, so your travel request will be on a waiting list. Can you wait for 3 weeks?
