Swiss Lakes and Alpine Passes
Today you're driving the 6 Lakes Route, heading toward Lake Lucerne through green meadows and rolling hills on some great driving roads. The main event is the Susten Pass with its 26 bridges and tunnels cut right into the mountain. The roads are well-designed with nice banking, and you'll stop at a River Gorge for a short walk to stretch out before continuing.

Grimsel and Furka Passes
After waking to views of the alps, you'll tackle two more alpine passes today. The Grimsel Pass winds gently through granite peaks, tunnels, and alongside blue lakes. Then comes the Furka Pass, which you might recognize from the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. You can visit the ice chamber that's been carved into the Rhone glacier and maintained every spring since around 1870, which is pretty remarkable.
