Itinerary
- Day 1
Izmir to Pergamum - Thyatira
Your guide meets you when you arrive in Izmir, then you'll head to Pergamum to walk through the Acropolis and see the Altar of Zeus and Temple of Trajan. The third-largest library from ancient times is there too. After that, you'll check out the Red Basilica (also called St. John's Church), then drive to Thyatira in Akhisar where Roman basilica ruins are waiting. Before reaching your Izmir hotel, there's a scenic drive through Smyrna, Turkey's third-largest city, which was home to one of the Seven Churches of Asia.

- Day 2
Sardis - Philadelphia - Hierapolis (Pamukkale) - Laodicea
Start early heading to Sardis to see the great Temple (which became a Byzantine Church later), the restored gymnasium, and the Synagogue. From there you'll go to Philadelphia in Alasehir, the only church that wasn't censured, where a Byzantine basilica with 11th-century frescoes stands. Then it's on to Hierapolis near Pamukkale to visit the Martyrium of the Apostle Philip and walk around the ancient city streets. Hot mineral water cascades over steep cliffs here, creating natural pools and channels that are quite something. You'll stay overnight at a thermal hotel in Pamukkale, and there's time to explore Laodicea's ancient structures too.

- Day 3
Ephesus - Kusadasi
The drive to Ephesus takes you through an ancient city with marble streets and impressive public buildings like the Baths of Scholastica, Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, and Theatre. You'll visit the House of Virgin Mary where she lived out her final years, then see the Basilica of St. John and the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. By evening you'll be staying in Kusadasi.
