- Day 1
Arrival to Negombo
You'll be picked up at the airport and driven by chauffeur to Negombo, a fishing village where traditional catamarans line the beach. Your first evening is relaxed, giving you time to settle into your accommodation and get oriented.

Wilpattu National Park
After breakfast, you'll head out on a boat through Muthurajawela marsh, a peat bog with a diverse ecosystem and wildlife worth seeing. That afternoon, a jeep safari takes you into Wilpattu National Park where you can look for leopards, deer, and various birds around its natural lakes.

Wilpattu to Habarana via Dambulla and Pidurangala
Heading toward the Cultural Triangle, you'll stop at Dambulla's ancient cave complex from the 3rd-2nd centuries BC, which also offers good bird watching opportunities. By evening, you reach Pidurangala, a historical temple site that's become popular for catching the sunset from its vantage point.

Cultural Triangle Safari
Following breakfast, you'll walk through Polonnaruwa's well-preserved ruins including palaces, monasteries, temples, and pagodas. Next you'll check out Medirigiriya and its pre-Christian heritage and stone work. To finish the day, a jeep safari through Minneriya National Park gives you chances to see large elephant populations.

Habarana to Kandy via Sigiriya and Matale
Your morning includes Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a 1000-year-old site with landscaped gardens, water features, and ancient frescoes. Later you'll travel to Kandy with stops at a spice garden and batik factory in Matale. That evening in Kandy involves watching a cultural dance performance and attending the ceremony at the Temple of Tooth.

You'll start at Udawattekele Sanctuary, a 200-300 year old forest behind the Temple of Tooth that helps clean Kandy's air. Then take a city tour and optionally visit the Royal Botanical Gardens with Asia's largest orchid collection. Later you'll drive to Kitulgala.

Kitulgala to Nuwara Eliya via Train
This morning offers optional white water rafting if you're interested. Then you take a scenic train ride from Hatton to Nanu Oya, where your driver picks you up for the drive to Nuwara Eliya in the hill country. You'll have the evening to walk around and enjoy the cooler mountain climate.

Horton Plains and Ella
You'll start early heading to Horton Plains Nature Reserve for a guided walk where you can spot sambar deer, leopards, and purple-faced langurs. World's End shows you where the 2000-meter plateau drops off dramatically. Then it's on to Ella where you trek to the Nine Arch Bridge, one of the popular trails in the region.

Ella to Sinharaja Forest Reserve
After breakfast you'll visit Lipton's Seat, a scenic viewpoint over tea estates where Thomas Lipton used to sit and drink tea. You'll hike to Little Adam's Peak, Ella's highest point, for views across the region. Later you drive to Sinharaja Forest Reserve, one of Sri Lanka's least disturbed rainforests.

Sinharaja Forest Reserve to Udawalawa
The morning takes you on rainforest trails through Sinharaja to experience its waterfalls, streams, birds, and medicinal plants. From there you travel to Udawalawa and visit the Elephant Transit Home, a facility rehabilitating orphaned elephant calves for eventual release into the wild.

- Day 11
Udawalawa to Yala via Kataragama
You'll start with a jeep safari through Udawalawa National Park, which has one of Asia's largest populations of wild elephants plus three deer species. On the way toward Yala, you'll stop at Kataragama, a sacred shrine respected by Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Vedda communities, known for its daily morning and evening ceremonies.

Yala National Park to South Coast
A jeep safari through Yala National Park lets you watch herds of wild elephants, spotted deer, and leopards in their natural habitat. Afterward you head toward the South Coast, visiting historic Galle with its 300-year-old Portuguese-Dutch fort and colonial architecture. You'll stay overnight at a beach hotel.
