Day 1
Colombo
You'll arrive at Colombo International Airport and get picked up for a transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, freshen up, and settle into your room after traveling.

Colombo to Anuradhapura
After breakfast, you're heading out early toward Anuradhapura, passing through Negombo first. Stop at Wilpattu National Park for a jeep safari where you might spot wildlife in their natural habitat. Grab lunch once you reach Anuradhapura, then spend the afternoon walking through the Sacred City's UNESCO World Heritage Site before heading back to your hotel for dinner.

Anuradhapura to Dambulla
Start the day early at Mihintale rock for some quiet time and breakfast. From there, travel to Trincomalee and check out Kantale Dam, then walk through the old Dutch Fort. Visit Koneswaram temple after that, and following lunch, take a boat out to Pigeon Island. Later, head south toward Dambulla to see the cave temple before dinner and settling in for the night.

I have been to Sri Lanka a couple of times already so Aitken Spence was very helpful in putting together a unique, tailor-made tour for me. I ended up booking a yoga retreat in a picturesque village of Ulpotha with additional nights in Colombo and the essential connecting transfers. The company was always replying to my messages competently and fast. After my arrival, Vinoli from Aitken Spence was checking up on me over the phone to make sure that everything was going smoothly and the way we agreed. The drivers were super polite, helpful and spoke very good English. I would definitely book a customized package with them again. As for Ulpotha, it was Heaven On Earth! Staying there was like a trip in time to a village where people lived a slow life using no electricity. After dark, only oil lamps lead our way. The food was delicious and sourced from the local garden. The staff & villagers always helped out with whatever they could with a wide smile on their faces. Our yoga teacher, Samantha, Kahuna therapist, Debbie, and our host, Ian, fuelled our spirits daily and made the experience even more memorable! I am totally coming back as soon as I can!

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 16th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 16th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Aitken Spence Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Aitken Spence Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
