- Day 1
Kathmandu to Pokhara
This morning you'll drive to Pokhara Valley, and by afternoon you're already settled in this mountain paradise. Your first views include the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges stretching across the horizon, and it's easy to see why this place draws so many visitors. There's plenty of time to walk around town, grab a bite, and get oriented before tomorrow's trek starts.

Landmarks Annapurna Range Dhaulagiri Range - Day 2
Nayapul to Tirkhedhunga
You'll head out from Nayapul early, making your way through Birethanti on the way to Tirkhedhunga. This four and a half hour trek isn't too intense and serves as your introduction to the mountain terrain. By evening you'll be at your lodge, and it's a good chance to get used to the rhythm of trekking days and where you'll be sleeping for the next week or so.

- Day 3
Tirkhedhunga to Ulleri and Banthanti
The first two hours get steep fast as you climb through the Magar villages of Ulleri and Banthanti. Your legs will feel it, but the payoff comes in the form of clear views of Machhapuchhare, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South rising around you. After lunch you'll continue on easier terrain, and by late afternoon you can settle in at the lodge and relax those tired muscles.

Banthanti to Ghorepani to Tadapani
You'll get up before dawn to hike to Poon Hill at 3232m, catching the sunrise over an incredible line of Himalayan peaks spreading across the sky. After breakfast back at the lodge, the day continues with a trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani, and you'll be descending most of the way through some really nice mountain scenery. It's one of those days where morning effort rewards you with afternoon ease.

Tadapani to Ghandruk
The walk down today takes you through rhododendron and oak forests where you'll spot various birds if you keep your eyes open. The trail eventually leads to Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village that offers great mountain views from different angles around town. It's a less demanding day physically, which gives your body a chance to recover before things get more challenging.

Landmarks Ghandruk Gangapurna - Day 6
Ghandruk to Chhomrong
You'll start with a gentle climb up to Ghandrukkot, then the trail turns downward with a steep drop to Kimron Khola before climbing again to Chhomrong. This Gurung village sits at a natural crossroads and serves as your gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary trek ahead. The elevation gain and loss balances out to keep today challenging but not crushing.

Landmarks Chhomrong - Day 7
Chhomrong to Sinuwa to Bamboo Lodge
From Chhomrong you'll descend a long stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests, and the shade feels refreshing after sunny stretches. Watch for stinging nettles on some of the rockier sections of trail, and then you'll emerge at Bamboo Lodge sitting at 2340m. By evening the forest canopy makes for cool temperatures and a peaceful setting.

- Day 8
Bamboo Lodge to Deurali
Today's trek flows gently through bamboo forests with rhododendron and oak mixed in, and you'll pass through Dovan where several lodges and campsites cluster together. After Dovan the trail gets muddy in places and runs high above the river before reaching Deurali. It's a steady day of hiking without huge climbs, so the walking feels rhythmic and meditative.

- Day 9
Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp
You'll trek through alpine forest with views of multiple Himalayan peaks appearing and disappearing through the trees. After a short hike from your morning lodge, Annapurna Base Camp at 4170m comes into view, and suddenly all those peaks you've been seeing from a distance are surrounding you at full scale. The panoramic views here make the entire week's effort feel worth it.

Landmarks Annapurna Base Camp - Day 10
Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan
The trek back down from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan retraces some of the climb, giving your body a chance to acclimatize on the descent. It's a recovery day in terms of new elevation and effort, and reaching Dovan feels like a real milestone of being halfway through your return journey.

Dovan to Jhinudanda Hot Spring
From Bamboo you'll work through a gradual descent via forest sections, then it gets steeper on the climb toward Kuldi Ghar. After that you'll trek to Sinuwa and Chhomrong before descending steeply to Jhinudanda, where natural hot springs run along the Modi Khola bank. By evening you can soak those aching legs in the warm water and watch the light fade on the surrounding peaks.

Landmarks Modi Khola Hot Spring - Day 12
Jhinudanda to Pothana
You'll start by descending past waterfalls, then the day becomes a series of gentle climbs and stream crossings through farm terraces. The trail takes you through Landruk, Tolka, and Bherikharka before the final push through oak forests to Pothana. Along the way there are romantic views of mountain peaks, especially from the higher sections before the forest closes in around you.

Pothana to Dhampus to Pokhara
The final trekking day brings a gentle descent to Dhampus, a Gurung village with terraced fields spreading out below it, followed by mostly flat walking before the trail drops steeply to Dhampus Phedi. From there you'll drive back to Pokhara, and the transition from mountain trekking to vehicle feels strange after a week of hiking. By afternoon you're back in town with time to settle in and think about the trek you just completed.

Landmarks Dhampus - Day 14
Pokhara to Kathmandu
The drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes you through Damauli, Dumre, Muglin, and Kurintar, passing Nepal's first cable car at Manakamana Temple along the way. The road climbs steadily through Thankot, which marks the gateway to Kathmandu, and you'll watch the landscape change from rural mountain valleys to busier terrain as you approach the city.
