You'll arrive in Lisbon and check into your 4-star hotel. After getting settled, grab dinner somewhere in the city this evening. The rest of your time is yours to wander around and get a feel for the place at whatever pace works for you.

Lisbon
This morning starts with a guided tour of Lisbon covering the main highlights. In the afternoon, you'll take a panoramic coach tour where you'll see Sao Jorge Castle sitting above the pastel-colored buildings of Alfama, plus the narrow alleyways that lead down toward the Tagus River. You're back at the hotel by evening with free time to do your own thing.

Lisbon to Coimbra to Porto
You'll head by coach to Coimbra, Portugal's former medieval capital and where the country's largest university is located. From there, continue to Porto where your cruise ship is waiting. Get settled into your cabin and join the crew for a welcome cocktail. If you want, there's an optional night tour of Porto available to explore the city after dark.

Landmarks/POIs Coimbra Porto - Day 4
Porto
Two guided excursion options let you explore Porto, one of Europe's oldest cities with a UNESCO-protected historic center. The Classic option includes a standard guided tour of the city. The Discovery option takes you on a vintage tram through Porto and visits the tram museum where you'll try some local food and drinks. Back on the ship, you'll sail in the afternoon and enjoy entertainment this evening.

Landmarks/POIs Porto Historic Centre Douro River mouth - Day 5
Régua
An optional excursion takes you into the Douro wine region. You'll walk to the Douro Museum in Régua to see exhibits about the area's wine-making history and techniques. After that, a coach takes you to Mateus Palace, an 18th-century baroque building with beautiful tree-lined gardens and a romantic topiary tunnel made from Mexican cedar. You'll head back to the ship in Pinhão by evening. Spanish-style entertainment happens tonight.

Salamanca
You can choose between two activities today. One option explores Salamanca's historic cathedral and famous university, which is one of the oldest universities in the world and was founded in 1218. The other option is a tapas tour where you'll sample local Spanish food around the city. Later, everyone comes together for the gala dinner celebration on the ship.
