Naomi· November 11th, 2019Israel is the only Jewish majority country in the world. I would have liked the itinerary to reflect this and include content in Jewish identity, culture and religion. Sadly the tour focused on Christianity and Israeli Muslim cultures. I was very happy for this to be included but would have liked more balance. For example in Jerusalem we went to Arab and Christian quarter but not Jewish quarter. We visited many many churches but no synagogues. This was very disappointing. Accommodation in tel aviv was wonderful. Hotel in Dead Sea was awful. Highlight of the trip was days in the desert, especially the jeep tour. It had a great varied itinerary with religious sites, history, culture and scenery. We were fortunate that our driver Henry suggested altering the itinerary to climb Masada first thing in the morning when it was cooler. The views were amazing! Really enjoyed the walking tour of Old Jerusalem. Our guide seemed less knowledgeable than other guides that we have had on past Intrepid tours but our driver helped fill in the gaps.Show more
