- James· September 26th, 2022Uganda is a beautiful country and this tour allowed us to see some of its highlights. Our guide Jackson was super friendly and knowledgeable, always stopping to point out wildlife and nature. Things were well organized and if there was an issue with the accommodation, Jackson saw to it that it was resolved. Food was great and the excursions unforgettable. All in all, a great trip. Highly recommended!Show moreBamboo Ecotours commented on this reviewMany thanks, James! We appreciate your business and support.Trip date: September 2022

- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written August 2023
Yes, the one gorilla trekking permit in Uganda is included the quote price.

Traveler•Written August 2023What is the starting location of this trip and is there a specific time that we need to arrive by? What are the rough costs of the additional activities (canoe trekking / golden monkey trekking)? Where and roughly what time does this trip end?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written September 2023
The starting location for the trip is Entebbe town in Uganda. The pickup time on the first day in Entebbe is 7:30am, so you are expected to be in Entebbe by 7:30am. The golden monkey permit is an extra USD80 per person. All the other listed optional activities in the community (canoeing, Batwa Tour, Coffee Tour) cost USD30 per person. The trip is scheduled to end in Entebbe, Uganda, but it can also end in Kigali, Rwanda if you prefer ending the trip in Kigali. Note that it takes about 5hrs to drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Kigali compared to 7-8hrs drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe. The expected arrival time in Entebbe on the last day would be between 4pm & 6pm.

Asked on May 4th, 2023I would be interested in this tour. I would be by myself, but I would like to join a group of other travelers. Concerning the date, pretty much anything between now and July/August would be fine. Also I have a working permit for Uganda, so the gorilla tracking permit and park entrance fees would be cheaper, right?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written May 2023
If you have a resident permit for Uganda, the price for a gorilla permit costs $600 instead of $700. The price quoted for this trip will be reduced by $100 if you book the tour.

Traveler•Written May 2023since this would be a private tour now, I wanted to ask wether it would be possible to make some changes to the itinerary. Because I'm actually most interested in the gorilla tracking and the volcano hiking, I wanted to check if we could leave out Lake Bunyonyi and make this only a 4 day trip, or maybe even move the gorilla tracking to Mgahinga national park as well, if possible. Also I wanted to ask what kind of accommodation would be included in the package as it is now.
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written May 2023
The way the trip is packaged now, accommodation would be provided in budget lodges. However, that is also possible if you prefer to upgrade to midrange/comfortable accommodation choices. Note that there is no midrange lodge close to the Mgahinga Park boundary. The nearest midrange lodges are the ones at Lake Mulehe and Lake Mutanda (1.5hrs drive to Mgahinga).

Asked on May 26th, 2022I'm hoping to put together a group for July 2022 and was wondering if you still have availability. We would likely be starting on either Sat 9 or Sunday 10 July.
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written May 2022
I will check with the national park office tomorrow if gorilla permits are still available for these dates. Do you know many people the group is likely to be?

Asked on March 13th, 2022Can you please advise the pick up and drop off locations for the tour in order to arrange accommodation
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written March 2022
The pickup and drop-off location for this tour can be Entebbe International Airport, any hotel in Entebbe, or downtown Kampala.

Traveler•Written March 2022With regards to the visa, do I also need Rwanda visa or just Uganda?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written March 2022
Got it; yes, this tour can be adjusted to pick up and drop off in Kigali, Rwanda. You can decide whether you prefer flying into Kigali or Entebbe. There are no additional costs if you choose one of the two locations. If you fly into Rwanda, the recommended visa would be the East Africa Tourist visa (costs $100) and grants multiple entries into Uganda & Rwanda.

Traveler•Written March 2022Apologies, just one more query. When trying to apply for the visa online my nationality (Ireland) is not listed as an option. Do you know if there is another way to get the visa?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written March 2022
Looks like Ireland is visa exempt for Uganda, which is good for you. You won't need a visa.

Asked on March 1st, 2022I am looking to book a trip in early April 2022 and your 5 day gorilla trekking and canoeing trip looks incredible! I'm a solo traveller but would ideally like to travel with other people - are there are any small groups going already that I could join?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written March 2022
At this point, we don't have a small group tour running in April 2022. We can also organize a solo trip for you if that is okay. Otherwise, if we get any bookings for the 5-day trip, we will let know.

Danielle
Traveler•Written March 2022I'm slightly less keen to do a solo trip, so I'm double-checking with one of my friends to see if they can come too.

Traveler•Written March 2022I think I saw that there is now a discount for the trip, down to USD1500. Will that still apply next week if I booked then?
- Bamboo EcotoursOperator•Written March 2022
The base price for two people traveling in a group of 2 should be around USD1900 per person. I think Tourradar shows $1500 as a "from" price, but the actual price is still around $1900.
