Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Pokhara
You'll spend the day driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara, a journey that takes about 6-7 hours. This scenic route gets you to the gateway of the Annapurna region, where you'll check into your accommodation and get settled. It's a good opportunity to rest and prepare mentally for the trekking that starts tomorrow. The drive itself takes you through changing landscapes as you move toward the mountains.

- Day 2
Kande to Pothana
After a 45-minute drive to Kande, you'll start trekking on easy-grade trails heading toward Pothana. The path takes you through Gurkha settlements and forests filled with rhododendrons. Throughout the day, you'll get views of Mount Fishtail, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, and Dhaulagiri. By evening, these peaks look particularly beautiful as the light changes, making the sunset something worth staying up for.

- Day 3
Pothana to Forest Camp
You'll trek to Forest Camp, a village that's grown significantly over the last 15 years around tourism. There are now 12 teahouses here, so you'll find decent facilities and a comfortable place to stay. The area offers good mountain views, and since it's developed more recently, it has a different feel from some of the older settlements. You'll settle in for the night with the mountains as your backdrop.

Forest Camp to High Camp
The trek heads uphill along a ridge toward Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre. As you climb higher, the trees get thinner and vegetation becomes more sparse. Watch for the Daphne pheasant, Nepal's national bird, on this section. When you reach High Camp, the mountain views make the effort worthwhile, and you'll have earned a good night's rest at altitude.

- Day 5
High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp and Badal Dada
From High Camp, you'll climb 3-4 hours to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m. The effort pays off with close-up views of the entire Annapurna Range, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Annapurna I. About two hours into the climb, there's a viewpoint worth stopping at. After taking in the panorama, you'll head back down to Badal Dada for the night.

- Day 6
Badal Dada to Lwang Village
You'll descend over 6-7 hours, but instead of retracing your steps, you'll take an alternate route through Sidhing toward Lwang Gharel village at 1,280m. This different path gives you fresh perspectives on the landscape and leads to a quieter settlement away from the more crowded main trails. The descent can be tough on the knees, so take your time and enjoy how the scenery changes as you head downhill.

- Day 7
Lwang Village to Pokhara
You'll trek back to Pokhara today, finishing up your Mardi Himal trek. This final push brings you back to where the adventure started. As you walk, you can reflect on the past week going through rhododendron forests, seeing those incredible Annapurna and Fishtail views, and passing through charming mountain villages. It's a good day to think about everything you've seen and experienced during the trek.
