- David· June 8th, 2025Itinerary was good. Guide was excellent. Hotels a problem. These basic 2-star pñaces are below what I have experienced with Explore in the past. - AHing· May 20th, 2023The guided tour of Leon and seeing the magnificent cathedral and many of the beautiful buildings in the city. Staying just off the cathedral Square was wonderful, even though it was a Hostal! Ascending to the Iron Cross was just just so special, and seeing the changes in landscapes, vegetations, and long vistas was one of the best days of the walk. Of all the hostals/ hotels that we stayed in, the Pazo de Sedor, my highlight, as was the set dinner that we had there. Of course the final day, looking down towards Santiago, seeing the spires/ towers of the cathedral, and finally walking into the cathedral Square, to join the others in our group was just incredible!Show moreTrip date: May 2023Review collected by Explore!

Traveler•Written June 2024Reading the review, there is mention of hostel. Your description of the room states standard hotel. Can you please confirm that the tour acclimations re at hotels not hostels? Are the hotels rate? Will there be Wi-Fi at the hotel?
- Explore!Operator•Written June 2024
In Spain hostals can be classed as guesthouses or hotels all with similar facilities as a traditional hotel such as en-suite bathrooms, WIFI facilities etc but are generally smaller than a large chain hotel. However we do not stay in hostels which are more catered to youth backpackers. We use a mixture of hostals and hotels on the tour an example of a hostal we use is Hostal Albany or Hostal Casa Mendez.
