Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
A representative will pick you up at Kathmandu International Airport and take you to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day to settle in and get some rest before your trek starts.

Kathmandu Sightseeing & Trek Briefing
After breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel for a tour of Kathmandu's heritage sites, including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambunat, and Bouddhanath. Later in the evening, your trekking guide will go over the trekking program with you before dinner.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Early morning takes you on a mountain flight to Lukla, which serves as the gateway to Mt. Everest. After you land, you'll start trekking toward Phakding, walking through pine and oak forests with views of the surrounding mountains.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Starting after a warm breakfast, you trek along a trail that follows the Dudkhosi River through forested hills. You'll cross a suspension bridge where the Bhotekoshi and Dudhkoshi rivers meet, giving you your first look at Everest and the peaks around it. Then you head uphill to reach Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization
This day is for acclimatization. You can walk around Namche Bazaar or, if you're up for it, hike to Everest View Hotel for views of the Mahalangur Himalayan ranges including Everest, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Choaltse. Back in town, you'll have time to relax in local cafes or pubs.

Namche Bazaar to Phortse Tanga
You'll climb Khumjung hill and then head down east toward the Dudh Koshi river valley. Stop at Mongla, the birthplace of a re-incarnated Lama who brought Buddhism to the Khumbu region. The trail drops steeply to the river and ends at Phortse Tanga for the night.

Landmarks Khumjung Hill Mt. Khumbila - Day 7
Phortse Tanga to Machhermo
Trek uphill through rhododendron forest, passing a waterfall before you reach Tongba Village. Continue through Dhole, Labarma, and Luza villages (you'll see a chorten before Luza) on your way to Machhermo. The Dudh Koshi River is your companion for much of the day.

Machhermo to Gokyo
You'll climb a ridge with good views toward Kangtaiga and Cho Oyu. As the valley opens up, you pass Phangkha and cross the Ngazumpa Glacier's terminal moraine. Along the way, you'll see the first lake (Longpongo), then the turquoise second lake (Taboche Tsho), before reaching Gokyo at the third lake (Dudh Pokhari) with Cho-Oyu as your backdrop. After lunch, take time to walk around the area.

Landmarks Longpongo Lake Taboche Tsho Lake Dudh Pokhari Lake Ngazumpa Glacier - Day 9
Gokyo Ri & Lakes Exploration
In the morning, hike to Gokyo Ri peak for views across the entire Khumbu region and four of Nepal's seven highest peaks: Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. From there, trek to the fourth lake (Thonak Tsho), then return to the third lake. If you have the time and energy, you can hike to the fifth lake (Ngozumba Tsho) to see the longest glacier in the Himalayas.

Landmarks Gokyo Ri Thonak Tsho Lake Ngozumba Tsho Lake Ngozumba Glacier - Day 10
Gokyo to Thagnak via Ngazumpa Glacier
If you didn't climb Gokyo Ri earlier, you can do it today. You'll trek through Ngazumpa Glacier to the mountain on the other side, walk along the mountain edge, and make your way to Thagnak. It's a shorter hiking day with the afternoon free to rest and build up strength for the longer stretches ahead.

Thagnak to Dzongla via Cho La Pass
Trek from Thagnak to Dzongla, crossing the Cho La Pass at 5367m/17,615 ft. This is a big day with significant elevation gain as you move closer to Everest Base Camp.

Landmarks Cho La Pass - Day 12
Dzongla to Lobuche
This is a shorter trekking day, so you'll have plenty of time to relax. You descend from Dzongla on a grassy trail with views of Lobuche Peak. Walk through the wide river bed before you reach Lobuche, where you can rest up for the longer trek tomorrow.

Landmarks Lobuche Peak - Day 13
Lobuche to Gorakshep
Many consider this the best section of the entire trek. The rocky, challenging trail runs alongside the Khumbu Glacier on your right. You'll navigate through large rocks and boulders to get to Gorakshep, which is the last settlement before Everest Base Camp.

Landmarks Khumbu Glacier - Day 14
Kalapathar & Everest Sunrise
Set your alarm for 4am so you can trek by moonlight up Kalapathar peak. When you reach the summit around dawn, the light hits Mt. Everest in a way that makes it all worthwhile, with fantastic views all around. After taking photos, head back to Gorakshep for lunch. Then trek to Pheriche in the afternoon.

Landmarks Kalapathar - Day 15
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
Now you're heading back toward Namche Bazaar, retracing your path. The walk is easier than what you've done lately, though there are still ups and downs. Throughout the descent, you'll have views of Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Choaltse.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Continue back toward Lukla, following the route you came in on. The descent gives you more views of Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Choaltse as you make your way down.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Catch an early flight back to Kathmandu. After you land, a representative will transfer you to your hotel for your final night.

- Day 18
Departure from Kathmandu
Time to head home and tell everyone about your trek. If you'd rather stay, you can add on other tours like a Chitwan Jungle Safari, river rafting, a scenic flight, cycling, or another trek in a different region.
