- Carol· July 27th, 2025We had an amazing time but from speaking to others it appears that individual experiences with this company could be hit and miss. Our guide although really nice was a driver not a guide. As a group we were not informed of anything but had to ask questions without getting the right answers in return. For example we asked if there were crocodiles and were informed they were far from here and there was one directly in front of us 🤣 I believe our guide was young and inexperienced and was unclear about general maintenance of the car ( we had a lot of car trouble including a breakdown in the Serengeti! Speaking with other tour groups over dinner they saw way more than us including a leopard and a cheetah and about 20 lions when all we saw were 3 asleep! I personally had an issue with the chef who was very rude to me in front of a group when he said breakfast was 7am and I pointed out the game drive was at 6am - he accused me of trying to dictate meal times. When I brought this up with the company and the fact the vegetarian options for the last 3 meals had been the same rice and vegetables my tour group were met with hostility by the chef and a mate who wanted to know who had complained to the office about his cooking and how they had served vegetables every meal and have 3 cars to cook for. Quite frankly that was not my problem and vegetarians eat more than just the same curried vegetables and rice every meal! Despite these things we saw some amazing sights and had a great time with a great group of people. I would also like to thank the office who surprised my husband with a lovely cake and a little party on his birthdayShow moreTrip date: July 2025

- AAnonymous· November 19th, 2024"I can’t thank Serengeti African Tours enough for an unforgettable 6-day private safari! Every detail was perfectly planned, making the trip beyond my wildest dreams. We explored the lush Lake Manyara, the majestic Serengeti (where spotting cheetahs was a highlight!), the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, and the magical Tarangire. Seeing the Big 5, countless birds, and unique wildlife like Mr. Warthog was incredible. Our guide, David, went above and beyond, sharing his knowledge and passion, which made every moment special. The accommodations and food were top-notch, adding comfort and care to the adventure. I’m so grateful for this amazing experience and highly recommend Serengeti African Tours for anyone seeking the magic of Tanzania’s wilderness.Show moreSerengeti African Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your wonderful feedback! - Luke· November 8th, 2024Our 5-day safari across Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire was incredible. Each park offered stunning landscapes and we saw all the animals we hoped for—and more! Special thanks to our guide, Godfrey, who answered every question with expertise and kept us entertained with his stories and humuor. Chef Richard’s meals were also top-notch, always fresh and delicious. The visit to the Materuni Waterfalls and meeting the local tribe added a unique touch to the trip. - Sharon· September 26th, 2024Our Guide, Praise was wonderful, especially on the return to Arusha day when we ran into a protest. Praise went the extra mile to make sure we all felt safe, secure and that things were under control. Thank you Praise! The facilities at the lodge were lovely and the camping was good, but don't expect hot water when staying at the camps - especially Ngorongoro - The food throughout was amazing and all credit to our cook - HOWEVER - the hotel we were booked into on our penultimate night in Arusa was not great, again no hot water and it was right in the middle of town and very very noisy. A place outside the centre with a garden to sit in would have been lovely and much nicer after being in a land rover for 4 days and basic camping. I would also suggest that a day going to the Falls and coffee plantation whilst really interesting could have been better spent with an extra two nights in the Serengeti as it was somewhat underwhelming end to our fantastic safari where we saw such a lot of cats, birds and the Lepoard with her cub was the absolute highlight. The falls/coffee should perhaps be more of an add on or side trip. Also it should really be pointed out at the briefing (first night) that there is an hour long uphill hike to reach the falls, some of our party could not manage it and had to wait in the village. On the whole it was a great trip and really good value. We would do it again.Show moreSerengeti African Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your wonderful feedback! - EGEstefania· August 17th, 2024You get what you paid for. It was “cheap” so we lack things like information or goods vehicles. It let us stranded 3 times!! The lack of information from the beginning has been appalling, as in, I wasn’t told that we would have 2 ppl to tip in 2 different sets of one reservation, that makes 4ppl! When I assumed it would be one person. In this toor model you have the driver and the chef because for some reason each company carries a chef with them. And then, the group split up, in the last part of the tour, again, the same problem, 2 ppl to tip. Highly dissatisfied with the lack of information. The night before the tour started someone came to my accommodation to give me a briefing, mainly to tell me how much I had to tip each person per day. She mentioned as well things as better colours to wear during the safari. That information would have been useful before I got to Tanzania, not after. I won’t buy a wardrobe the night before of the safari. That. is the sort of information that companies should have a ready email with and send it straight away as soon as you book. Mosquito repellent (I did have that), colours, how many ppl to tip in each day, expectations about food (very high in carb). This sort of information should had been send right after you get your confirmation of the safari. I am sure is not that difficult to put that sort of email together. Quite disappointing. Apart from that, it is many, many, many hours sitting in a car. That’s how it is but, be aware!Show moreSerengeti African Tours commented on this reviewThank you for feedbackTrip date: August 2024
- Ben· August 12th, 2024This was an amazing experience. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the chef was also excellent. Asked on May 23rd, 2025I would like to get more information about your tours. between July and August I will be in Arusha for volunteering, I would like at the end of my 4 week stay to add a tour/safari. Do you have flexible dates? Does the price include everything: food, accommodation and entrance fees? Would you know how to advise me what can be a right option for me, I will be traveling alone.
- Serengeti African ToursOperator•Written May 2025
Our well-crafted itinerary ensures an unforgettable journey through Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and the Materuni waterfalls and coffee tour. We recommend you be in Arusha one day before the safari, Also, we can arrange the accommodation before/after the safari for extra cost because the Joining Group Safari starts at around 7 am to 8 am. A group tour involves a maximum of 6-7 people in a safari jeep.

Traveler•Written May 2025We talk about 6/7 people per jeep, is the group larger instead? Also can I have the tour link, I can't find it from your site. As for the dates, I didn't understand if they are flexible or already set.
- Serengeti African ToursOperator•Written May 2025
Meaning the maximum number 6-7 means that in the safari jeep there are comfortable 7 seats in total for the clients that will join. And lastly this is tour is flexible you can start any days.

Asked on November 17th, 2024Would you be able to assist in an airport transfer and a hotel prior to the tour? Also at the end of the tour what time will the tour end? Will be be able to fly to Zanzibar that evening?
- Serengeti African ToursOperator•Written November 2024
The Tour normally starts around 7:00 am to 8:00 am and the last day of the safari ends around 5 pm to 6 pm in this time you will already be in Arusha. So if you want to take the flight to Zanzibar my recommendation I will suggest you to take the flight around 8 pm from Kilimanjaro airport. The distance from Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport is One hour and 30 minutes and you will catch your flight. Kindly for the airport pick up and airport drop off we can arrange for you with the extra cost and it will be $40 for pick up and $40 for drop so it will be $80 for both of you. And for the accommodation also we will arrange for you with the extra cost in the budget hotel for $50 for both of you.
