Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Sacred Valley to Wacawasi
You'll leave Cusco early in the morning by private bus, traveling through the Sacred Valley toward Lares. The route takes you through high-altitude terrain where you'll stop for lunch at the hot springs. From there, it's a 2-hour hike to reach Wacawasi campsite. You'll have dinner and spend the night at camp.

Wacawasi to Yanahuara
After breakfast, you'll watch local weavers demonstrate traditional alpaca fabric techniques before starting your hike. The trail climbs to Condor Pass at 4,100m/13,450ft, where you can see Mount Veronica rising to 5,750m/18,860ft. From there, you continue hiking to Lake Epsaycocha for lunch, then trek on to Yanahuara where the campsite is located. Dinner happens at camp.

Yanahuara to Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes
You'll head by bus to Ollantaytambo early and board the Expedition Train at 6:10 am heading to KM 104. The hike starts with Chachabamba ruins, then passes a waterfall before reaching Winyahuayna, where you can see impressive Andean agricultural terraces. After lunch, you'll trek uphill to Inti Punku (Sun Gate) for your first look at Machu Picchu across the valley. The bus takes you down to Aguas Calientes for the night.

Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo to Cusco
You'll start at 5:30 am with an early breakfast, then trek to Machu Picchu for a guided tour of the ruins, including the Intihuatana stone. There's an optional hike up Huayna Picchu at 10:00 am (around 1 hour, costs USD 70 extra). In the afternoon and evening, you'll travel by train from Aguas Calientes at 6:20 pm, then ride back to Cusco by vehicle.
