Itinerary
- Day 1
San Jose De Cachora to Rosalinas
You'll get picked up from your hotel at 6am for the drive to San Jose De Cachora, which takes about 3 hours. Once there, the trek starts with a climb up to the Chikiska zone. Around midday you'll stop for lunch, then head down to Rosalinas beach on the Apurimac River where you'll set up camp for the night. Plan on about 5 to 6 hours of walking today overall.

Marampata to Choquequirao
After breakfast early in the morning, you'll face a more demanding hiking day. The route climbs toward Marampata at 3000m/9843ft, where lunch happens. From there, you continue on to Choquequirao's summit at 3650m/11,975ft where you'll camp. The tents are comfortable and if weather cooperates, the sunset should be really nice. You'll cover about 10km over the course of the day.

Choquequirao to Chiquisca
Your alarm goes off at 5am so you can eat breakfast before the day's main event. You'll spend time at the Choquequirao archaeological complex, which is really the centerpiece of this whole trek. After exploring the site thoroughly, you begin the return hike up to Chiquisca for your final night of camping. The hiking portion takes around 5 hours.

Chiquisca to Cusco
The last day kicks off at 7am with a hike to Wayna Qalli viewpoint, which gives you incredible views down into the Apurimac River Canyon, something lots of people call one of South America's most dramatic canyons. After taking in the views, you descend back to San Jose De Cachora where your transport is waiting. The drive back to Cusco takes a few hours, and you should roll in around 5pm. This morning's hike is shorter, just about 3 hours.
