The hotel rooms were very small but that is standard in Japan - it is possible to get bigger hotel rooms - you just need to pay more. We went to some interesting places that you wouldn't really go to on your own. The penalty is 300 USD per person if cancelled more than two months before the departure date, 600 USD if cancelled 1-2 months before the departure date. And it is not refundable if cancelled within a month of the departure date.

Since the whole day touring on Day 7th is within Tokyo, it's okay if you wish to leave the group early. The public transportation is very convenient in Tokyo. The tour guide can also provide guidance on taking the train.
