- AMAnil· June 20th, 2023The sites we visited was more historical and also a learning.for us. I was a bit dissapointed with the five star hotels as their bathrooms were not disability friendly and some 84 years old pensioners could not climb into the bath-tab to bathe. Also the W.C were always wet and dirty especially the Sabita Airport where at midnight the toilets were filthy ....ladies were forced to find alternatives in the departure sector. One Austalian couple entered the bus with the flu which resulted in 90% of the travellers catching it because of the close enviroment we were travelling in the bus. They should have wore mask to prevent the spread. Tipping the guide also became an issue where he requested it before reaching our final destination and was not satisfied from what he received from some pensioners he curtly returned it to some passengers requesting to give it to the driver instead.....bearing in mind the driver was already tipped and was happy with it. He even had the odesity to request that passengers rate the trip 9 to 10 as 8 was not good enough. He is by all standards an excellent guide ....helpful....knowledgeable ...organized etc but his grading request and the tipping left a sour taste at the end of the tour which was supposedly to end on a happy note. Last comment not vegetarian or plasbetarian friendly. Hence it is Ok but certainly not excellent.Show more

Asked on January 1st, 2023Does this tour enable us to attend the Dawn Service at Anzac Cove? If so is it necessary for us to apply for an official pass through the New Zealand or Australian Defence Forces?

This departure does allow you to attend the Dawn Service. All guests must pre-register with the Department of Veterans Affairs to the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Gallipoli. Historically registration opens approx. 2 months prior to Anzac Day.

Traveler•Written January 2023I have checked the New Zealand Defence Force registration page and found we have to choose between the Dawn Service at Chunuk Bair (New Zealand) or Lone Pine (Australian) due to time constraints not allowing attending both. We would prefer to attend the Chunuk Bair service. I am assuming this is possible but am just checking.

Yes, it is possible to attend the Chunuk Bair service. Generally, Australian guests attend ceremonies only at Lone Pine and New Zealand guests attend ceremonies only at Chunuk Bair due to time constraints, though it is possible for our guests to choose the ceremony they would like to attend.
