WorldTourPlan made my trip to Bhutan very easy. My guide, Kinley was extremely knowledgeable and was always wanting to show me extra things. My lady Driver was sensational. I was never worried on the switchbacks, rain or fog. They both went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and make sure I had a pleasant trip. I love Bhutan!!!!!

The trip was amazing from start to finish. The guide was super-knowledgable about the landscapes, the histories, and especially the Buddhist monasteries and castles we visited and the paintings inside them. Tenzin was kind, patient, and welcoming, and the driver, Namgay, was sweet, kind, and an excellent driver. Seriously, every day was a high point on the trip: the hike through the forest to the monastery in Thimphu and meditating while the monks chanted, the visit to the textile museum (I'm a textile artist), a conversation with a graduate from the Traditional Medicine Faculty, the visit to the temple of the Divine Mad Man and hearing the ancient stories from the young monks staying there, and the hike up to the Tiger's Nest and having the chance to meditate there. Everywhere we drove was like a snapshot out of National Geographic magazine. The hotels were lovely too, with amazing views over rice fields and mountains. I'm celiac (I can't eat gluten or any milk products) and the guide,Tenzin, coordinated with hotel chefs and restaurants everywhere we went to make sure I could eat. I'm extremely grateful for all the delicious meals he arranged. It can be a big pain in the a** to find gluten-free, dairy-free food in many places in the world, and I feel very fortunate. I ate like a queen on this tour. I didn't plan on visiting Bhutan...I was actually traveling in India, China, and Nepal, and an immigration officer told me I MUST visit Bhutan; it's beautiful, she said, you cannot miss this opportunity. I'm with her. I highly recommend "Best of Bhutan." Their tour was the highlight of my trip to the Himalayas.

I Had a wonderful time in Bhutan. My guide was Singe, he was kind and helpful throughout the whole tour. He had in depth knowledge of his beautiful country and was always happy to accommodate any questions. The food was excellent and more than enough, In our free time Singe asked if there were any places /things outside of the itinerary that we wanted to experience. A perfect flawless trip Thank you world tour Plan.

My 5 day trip to Bhutan was exceptional. I ended up having a personal tour, just me plus my guide and driver. Everything was customised to my needs, my guide called ahead to ensure all of my meals were aligned with my specific dietary requirements at hotels, restaurants and a farm house. The hotels were fabulous, with friendly staff that would do anything to help. The many sights around Bhutan were incredible, and my guide was very patient/helpful as we tackled the Tigers Nest on my last day - a combination of an injured knee plus difficulty with altitude meant I needed to take things very slow, with plenty of stops - but we made it, and so worthwhile, a real'must do' activity. Kinley (guide) and Kim (driver) were great- very informative and entertaining. I highly recommend this trip...

The owner of World Tour Plan helped with my visa and flight and continued to answer any questions I had throughout my trip. My guide and driver were exceptional. Will your company be able to arrange for flights for us from Katmandu to Bhutan. We really want to climb Tiger's Nest. Will we be able to do that? Also do we have to pay the $100 per day tourist fee when we enter Bhutan? Are there any other tourist fees we are expected to pay?

    • World Tour PlanOperatorWritten August 2025

Yes, we can certainly assist in arranging your flights from Kathmandu to Paro. Regarding your visit to Tiger's Nest (Taktsang Monastery) — absolutely! The hike is feasible for most travellers with moderate fitness. Currently Bhutan requires international visitors to pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD 100 per person, per night. This goes towards preserving Bhutan's culture and environment. There are no additional tourist taxes, but your package will also include visa processing, accommodation, meals, transport, and a licensed guide — so there won't be any hidden costs.

      TravelerWritten August 2025

Would you be able to arrange flights from Kathmandu? Approximately when are the flights? Just to clarify we would pay $500 for 5 nights as per the tourist fee? Do we pay when we enter Bhutan?

    • World Tour PlanOperatorWritten August 2025

Yes, we can help you arrange tickets from Kathmandu to Paro. The flights are operated by Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines, and they usually depart in the morning between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of $100 per person per night is already included in the total tour cost for the 5-night package, so you do not need to pay this separately upon arrival in Bhutan.

We are considering coming to Nepal and Bhutan in 2026. If we organize flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan will you assist with visas if we book the tour with you. Do we need some kind of evidence from you that we have booked a tour. How does the visa work?

    Flights / Transfers
    Visa
    • World Tour PlanOperatorWritten July 2025

Yes, if you book your Bhutan tour with us, we will handle the entire visa process on your behalf. In Bhutan, visas are only issued through licensed tour operators like us, and you do not need to apply separately. Once your tour is confirmed with us (with an itinerary and payment in place), we will process your visa and send you an official visa clearance letter issued by the Department of Immigration, which you'll need to present when boarding your flight to Bhutan. This letter serves as proof of your travel arrangement and guarantees your entry into the country. You can book your flight from Kathmandu to Bhutan, or we can assist with that too if you prefer.

      TravelerWritten August 2024

Is a stay in a monastery included? I see a homestay is included, is that correct? I am definitely interested in travelling with others if possible. I asked about the hiking because I am in very good shape, but I had a knee injury a few months ago, so I can't hike more than about 5 km at a stretch and if I had to do that every day, that would be tough. I am very interested in cultural experiences, including food, art, and culture balances with the trek. Honestly, all the tours look kind of the same, so I am finding it hard to distinguish them and I am a little concerned that all the trips will just be stops at tourist destinations with hundreds of other people, and I was hoping for something a bit more authentic. What makes your tour unique?
