Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Whitehorse

Your driver meets you at the airport and takes you into central Whitehorse to your hotel. You'll have the rest of the day to drop your bags, freshen up, and get settled before things kick off tomorrow.

    Start point
Whitehorse International Airport (YXY), 91633 Alaska Hwy, Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 6E6, Canada (Whitehorse Airport, 08:00 - 20:00)
  2. Day 2

    Whitehorse

Early on you'll board a 20-minute sightseeing flight that takes you over Yukon's summer landscape from the air. Once you're back in Whitehorse, spend time walking through the city's history at the historic Paddlewheeler SS Klondike and checking out the unusual log skyscraper downtown. After lunch, head to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve where you'll see Elk, Moose, Caribou, Mountain Goats, and Porcupines in their natural habitat. By evening you'll relax in the natural hot springs at Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs with mountain views all around, which is a nice way to end the day.

    Included Activities

    • 20-minute sightseeing flight above Whitehorse and Yukon scenery
    • City sightseeing tour of Whitehorse
    • Visit to Yukon Wildlife Preserve

At Kathleen Lake you can walk around and take in the scenery, then do a short hike at Rock Glacier where you'll get views across the lakes and mountains below. From there, stop at the Da Ku Cultural Centre in Haines Junction to learn about the park's history and the massive non-polar ice field that sits there.

The northern scenery is peaceful on this stretch, and it's a good day trip even if you've never paddled before. After you come back to shore, grab a beer from the famous Yukon Brewery at one of the downtown restaurants to celebrate.

Well managed and organized; driving excellent; hotels ok; your rating mentions meals but these were not included in the price; itinerary was good. I would have liked to have learned more about Inuvialuit culture and language in Tukyoyuktuk but we did learn much recent history and got a tour of the hamlet. We also learned about traditional clothing and a bit about food, though I would have liked to learn more. We learned about some current issues - from someone who had been instrumental in gaining better advantages and conditions over the years and in confronting the scandal of the residential schools

Very organized company. We loved how everything was handled. From the airport transfer to the day tours and aurora viewing. The guides were also very good and attentive, especially Mariko. Highly recommended.

    Asked on January 19th, 2023

Looking at this tour, love all the activities because my Dad will be 84 with limited mobility, the only worry is the canoe ride, is there a safety boat following the group that he would be able to ride in? I am not sure he could get in or out of the canoe

Sadly the guide will follow with another canoe only which means that your dad is not able to join this tour.

    Asked on July 31st, 2022

Could you please let me know if the Yukon Summer Adventure tour is guaranteed departure for all the dates listed (ie it won't be cancelled if I am the only person signed up)? I will be a solo traveller. I am interested more in late August dates.

Are there any tours in august 2022 where you already have the minimum number of people signed up? I would then pick that one.
