- Sarah’s· January 8th, 2025Our journey in India had its ups and downs. While there were memorable moments, such as visiting the Taj Mahal, which made the trip feel worth it, there were significant issues with the tour. Several sights in the itinerary were skipped, and we weren’t informed beforehand about closures, like Lakshminarayan Temple and Elephanta Caves on Mondays. Film City was also too far, and the company didn’t have the necessary permits to visit it. Accommodation fell short of expectations in some cities, with 2-star hotels provided despite the promise of 3-star accommodations. Additionally, we had to remind the office about arrangements, as they seemed forgetful about key details. On the positive side, the drivers and guides were great, especially Krishan in Jaipur, who went above and beyond to enhance our experience. This tour had its challenges, but India’s beauty and cultural richness ultimately made the journey memorable.Show moreTrip date: December 2024
- VCVictor· February 23rd, 2023No derailed itinerary meant having to contact Karni often for simple things like pick up times. She always replied promptly. One of our guides got quite upset when we didn't want to go to his "familys" stone inlay shop. Hotels were just acceptable to awful. If you take this tour do not accept the Hotel Orange in Agra which is pretty bad. The Hong Kong Inn at Amritsar was truly awful, lights hanging off the wall, burned out electrical sockets. The Haweli in Jaipur was good and the only one that at warranted a 3 star rating. The others were 1 star at best.Show moreTrip date: February 2023
- NWNaomi· October 6th, 2019The guides were amazing - particularly Sultan in Amritsar who had impeccable English and knowledge. My driver Vicki, was not only a skilful driver on the interesting roads, but was extremely kind and helpful - particularly on the day I got the train to Amritsar, when he not only ensured I got on the correct train, but took me to my seat and aided me with my cases. Despite emailing prior to departure to ask about a morning visit to the Taj Mahal - which I was assured would happen, I got taken in the afternoon, despite also querying this with the local guide. This was disappointing. The accommodation was varied - for example Harnawa Haveli in Jaipur was beautiful, whilst the hotel in Delhi was noisy (inside, not outside) and was very basic. The other thing to be aware, this is not a tour like most European or Oceanic tours - you are basically by yourself or with your group rather than being with other people. There was another guy on the "same tour" as me, but who had a separate driver and a separate guide at each stop, and it was only by chance in one of the accommodations that we got chatting and worked this out. It would have been nice had this been made more clear before booking, as it's often more enjoyable to travel in a larger group.Show moreTrip date: November 2018
