- David· April 9th, 2022I wanted to do something special for my fiftieth birthday and my mum's last big holiday, as she's eighty next year. This trip ticked all the boxes and was mum's "best holiday ever". We were met straight from the airport by a tour rep who helped us through immigration and helped me sort out a sim card and get money. First two days were trips to the Great Pyramids at Giza, Saqqora, Memphis and Cairo. Guide and driver were excellent, even with the packed Cairo traffic We then transferred to Luxor by plane for the seven night cruise on a Dahabieh to Aswan. Boat and crew were both brilliant, with superb service and food. Starting from Luxor, at each stop off, we did tours with an excellent local guide After Aswan transferred back to Cairo for the final day looking at different sites covering old Cairo, Islamic Cairo and Coptic Cairo. If you're looking for an in depth cultural and historical trip to Egypt, then this ticks all the boxes. Guides were all excellent with my 78 year old mum and transfers and trips COVID safe Just need to get the extra kilos off now after all the luxury food (any chocolate covered dates)Show more
