Bangkok
Start in Bangkok at your centrally located hotel and begin getting to know Thailand's capital. Over the four days here, you'll check out the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, take a cruise along the Chaophraya River (often called the Venice of the East), walk through the bustling Chatuchak Weekend Market, and try out some of Bangkok's well-known spa facilities. The dining scene here is diverse, so you'll have plenty of options for meals throughout your stay.

- Days 5 - 6
River Kwai
Travel to the River Kwai region to explore Thailand's World War II history. You'll visit the War Museum and the Cemetery of the Allied Prisoners, then see the Bridge over the River Kwai. After that, take a long-tailed boat ride through mountainous jungle to reach your resort. Once you check in and have lunch, head out on another boat ride downstream to Resotel pier and visit Hell Fire Pass Memorial. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner followed by a 40-minute traditional Mon dance performance put on by local villagers.

Chiang Rai
Head to Chiang Rai, Thailand's northernmost province located in the mountains at 1,387 feet above sea level. The town sits about 490 miles from Bangkok and serves as a gateway to Myanmar and Laos. You'll walk through the region and see how local hilltribes live, taking in the mountainous terrain and the Mae Khong River to the north. The area has natural attractions and historical sites worth exploring on your own pace.

Landmarks/POIs Kok River Mae Khong River - Days 10 - 12
Chiang Mai
Travel to Chiang Mai for an afternoon trip to Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, a 600-year-old temple that's one of the city's most important landmarks. The drive winds through mountains, and when you arrive, you'll climb a dragon-headed serpent staircase with 306 steps to reach the top. Once there, explore the copper-plated chedi topped by a five-tier gold umbrella that holds partial relics of Lord Buddha. On clear days, you can see panoramic views of Chiang Mai from the summit.

Phuket
Fly to Phuket, Thailand's largest island, which stands alone as its own province. The island has beautiful beaches, rocky capes, mountains, forested hills, and farmlands growing rubber, pineapple, and tapioca. Phuket works well as a central hub for visiting other destinations, and it has solid infrastructure with international restaurants, local food spots, shopping centers, nightlife options, a marina, a cinema, and various recreation activities throughout.
