You could check out the mountainous northern part, visit some of Arran's best beaches, or explore Lochranza Castle and the Lagg Distillery. There are Neolithic and Bronze Age stone circles at Machrie Moor if history interests you, and the harbour villages like Blackwaterfoot offer a quieter coastal experience. The Isle of Arran is a remarkable place with breathtaking scenery and old world charm in its villages. Graham the tour leader did an excellent job in educating us on the island and its attractions as well as describing Scottish history in general. Nothing was to much trouble to ensure we all had a good time. He got us on a ferry that wouldn’t take us and ran a delivery service for a tour member that solved a lot of problems. The Isle of Arran is Scotland in miniature. A must do tour before and after time in Its major cities.

I had such a wonderful trip! I loved my accommodation as it was a historic residence. My tour guide, Gill Brown, showed so much enthusiasm and passion for what she was doing that it made the trip/tour even more fun and exciting than it was. She supplemented the trip with Scottish music and went above and beyond the call of duty. She became a friend for life.

Peter Falconer was an excellent guide with great historical knowledge, a good sense of humour and a story or two to tell. He put no pressure on us to pay for extra little tours and took great care to ensure I reached my transportation on time as I had to leave several hours earlier. Loved our tour and accommodation and would definitely recommend the isle of Aaron for its extreme beauty and picturesque location regardless of the autumn weather.
