Some of the hotels were not very good especially the hotel in Merida (dirty sheets and towels and smell from drains), Flores gutamela (poor quality hotel and dirty towels again) and the hotel in playa del carmen was beside a night club so the walls were vibrating from the base of the music. There was some free time and activities were good but the activities later in the trip were quite over priced (Guatemala and Belize). Think some of the itinerary can be looked at also as unsure if one spot can be missed or longer as felt like not a lot of time in Guatemala and Belize and both squeezed in with long 9 hour bus days for both. Use of public buses is fine but one was when all group of 17 got on and all bus full so standing for trip. Not ideal especially when members of group were ill. - JSJohn· March 21st, 2023Our guide, Ingrid, was fantastic. Kind, helpful, attentive to each person’s specific needs. She made sure everyone was included at all times, even the quiet people. The tour itself was excellent. We were able to tailor it to our specific needs. We saw 11 archeological sites whereas other people took in all the water activities. We would have liked a better estimate of food prices as we ended up spending vastly more than budgeted. Probably an average of $60 CAD per person each day. - Lilibeth· October 24th, 2022Overall it was excellent and the CEO for the G Adventures is the reason I am happy because he went beyond to assist us and made this trip a memorable one. I am not very satisfied and very frustrated with G Adventures. Two days before my flight to Cancun, I message G Adventures about the transfer and even provided the flight info only to find out no transfer arrived and we have to pay 1500 pesos for the taxis. NO ONE from G Adventures acknowledged my message to them. Zero. Nada. Also, G Adventures failed to email me the documents prior the trip and basically I relied the itinerary based on the Tour Radar brochures. We went to Hotel Flores and found out that are name is not on the list. We don't have any contact # for G Adventures to confirm and lucky for us, we were able to find a number for Tour Radar and the rep was very helpful and very patient (too bad, I forgot her name...We were so exhausted and very upset). She asked us if we received documents from G Adventures like hotels info, itinerary etc. and I confirmed to her, No, I didn't. The Tour Radar rep was able to retrieved the hotel information for us and took another taxi to get there. It was a gruesome, tedious and wasted 2 hours dealing with this crap cause by G Adventures, where we should be relaxing and enjoying our first dinner in Cancun and it cost us additional expenses by paying the taxi from the airport! But I am happy with Tour Radar team because they did a remarkable job. - CMCECILIA· October 17th, 2022Hello, It was my first time booking with G Adventure via Tourradar as it was recommended by my friend Lilibeth Villamayor. As a new client, I tried to follow every step of my booking, including the "Good To Go" for my pre-departure. I emailed G Adventure regarding my information. And constantly following up to receive confirmation from your end that you have reviewed the document I submitted – If I have properly filled the form with all the details required which includes pickup service from airport to hotel. However, i did not receive any response from both G Adventure nor from your end TourRadar. On September 29, 2022, two days before my departure for Mexico, I emailed G Adventure via TourRadar reminding the company of the transfer pickup. But I have not received any response from your end nor from G Adventure. However, upon arriving in Mexico on Oct. 1, 2022, I received an email from G Adventure stating that I didn't book a transfer and asked me to make my own way to the start of the tour! Me and my friend Lilibeth Villamayor ended up paying our own trip from the airport to the hotel for 1500 pesos. This should have been resolved IF only both you TourRadar and G Adventure responded earlier – prior to my departure to Mexico because I’ve been reiterating this matter from the first day of my booking. I was constantly emailing both your company with any information needed before my trip. And if there are anomalies and discrepancies in the form I submitted and/or if I missed any requirements including transfer pickup – which was important. Shouldn't the company have also checked my document to make sure it reflects the messages I sent them? I don't think so. Because if you did, i will not be writing you on this issue. Obviously, you haven’t even bother to check the content of my emails. I’m also with customer service helpdesk. And for me, I have to review the details of our clients document to compare with their email request. This way, if the client missed any information required on the document, I respond ASAP to ensure the client receives the proper service. With the exception of CEO Guy Delorme who is engaging/enthusiastic, efficient and dependable with great sense of humor – par excellence, I must say that I am very disappointed with your company. We believe single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin with someone of the same sex for the duration of this trip. Your two options as a solo traveller on the Mayan Discovery tour are: 1. Pay the price as per the website, and we will pair you up with another solo traveller of the same gender. 2. Pay an additional cost and book 'My Own Room' option which is subject to availability. (Currently 1 available for Dec 14, 2024 departure). The additional cost is 699.00 USD (or we can quote it in a different currency based on your home country).

You will be able to book a transfer/taxi via your tour guide once you join the trip, most travellers will use a taxi as this is the easiest way. You can also search online as there are bus companies you can use such as Ado Aeropuerto.
