Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito
You'll land in Quito and have some flexibility to wander the Old Town if your flight gets in early, since there are roughly 30 churches scattered throughout the area. By 5 or 6 pm you'll meet your local leader and the rest of the group for a briefing, then head to dinner at a local restaurant where you can try traditional Ecuadorian food like locro and quinoa.

Landmarks Quito Old Town - Day 2
Quito to Galapagos Islands
This one starts before dawn, possibly around 4 am, so you'll head to Mariscal Sucre International Airport with a boxed breakfast in hand. After flying to the Galapagos and meeting your naturalist guide, you'll transfer to Isla Baltra and board M/Y Queen Beatriz. Lunch happens with the group once you're settled, and then the ship sails to Punta Carrion where you'll snorkel and swim, keeping an eye out for blue-footed boobies, herons, rays and white-tipped reef sharks. The evening wraps up with a welcome cocktail and crew presentation onboard.

Isla Isabela
You'll wake on the south coast of Isla Isabela, the largest Galapagos island, which formed from five giant volcanic craters less than 1 million years ago. Morning takes you to Las Tintoreras to see a colony of white-tipped reef sharks, then you'll walk through lava flows where blue-footed boobies, penguins, marine iguanas and crabs hang out. Later you can walk around a coastal lagoon where flamingos sometimes show up, leading to Isabela's Giant Tortoise Breeding Center. By afternoon you get to choose between swimming at the beach or browsing shops in Puerto Villamil.

- Day 4
Isla Floreana
Isla Floreana has a lot to see with its wildlife and natural features. You'll start with a panga ride around the bay spotting marine iguanas, sea lions and crabs, then take a leisurely walk to Post Office Bay where 18th century whalers left a barrel as an informal mail system, and people still use it today. There's also time to snorkel with sea turtles and look for pink flamingos and water birds like pintails and stilts in the lagoons. Later you'll snorkel at Devil's Crown, an old eroded volcanic cone with sea lions and colorful fish, and finish at Punta Cormorant with its olive-green beach made of olivine crystals.

- Day 5
Isla Santa Cruz to Quito
Your last day in the islands starts early since you need to catch a mid-morning flight back to the mainland. You'll wake on Isla Santa Cruz and head to Puerto Ayora, the economic center of the archipelago, where the Charles Darwin Research Station does important conservation work. Spend time there checking out the giant tortoises, and you might see baby tortoises and land iguanas too. After that you'll transfer to the airport for your flight back to Quito, and if you're interested, the group is planning a farewell dinner this evening to wrap things up.

Quito
No activities are scheduled today and your trip ends after breakfast. If you want to stick around longer, you could stay in Quito for a few extra days and see more of the city. Just reach out to your booking agent beforehand if you need help setting up additional accommodation.
