- GSGeorgia· July 3rd, 2025Great family tour - good coverage of the highlights of Japan mixed with spare time for teenagers to shop and look around the areas. Use and co-ordination of the excellent transport system with the luxury of a tour guide to follow and use the best routes aswell as getting the most out of all the day trips and food, local restaurants and answering any questions making this a true holiday experienceShow moreThe Dragon Trip commented on this reviewThank you so much for your fantastic feedback! - MKMolly· June 9th, 2025Our tour was an excellent mix of modern culture and historic stops. Our days were jam packed with evenings free to do as we pleased (but honestly we were so tired we stayed “close to home”. We did SO much in 12 days. The time with the tour guides gave us the confidence to do that last three days of our Japan stay on our own.Show moreThe Dragon Trip commented on this reviewBased on the photos alone, it looks like you had a really fun time in Japan. - M· July 6th, 2024Juno Choi was excellent! He was very helpful and thoughtful. He was always willing to help us in everyday situations. He gave the extra mile all the time!! The only thing I would improve is that I would guide more in the places I visit because I don’t know what I am really looking at in the temples and shrine. We had general information, but I wanted a little more. Maybe a video with general information of the temples or shrines of what we are about to see or that they guide us directly to the spot. They gave us general info on the temple or shrine, but I didn’t know where to go after that.Show moreThe Dragon Trip commented on this reviewHi M. I'm glad to hear Juno was so helpful! - M· July 6th, 2024The tour was good; it had a lot of walking. It is certainly not for people that aren’t physically fit. Something to warn people about, for sure! I truly think you should consider asking a group like ours if they prefer to take all the trains and buses vs taking Uber or Taxi. Sometimes the difference was 100-200 Yen. The group could either pay the difference or you could add it to the price. When you change it to US dollars it is very little and the group could be willing to pay for it. Plus, being underground you don’t see anything, vs being in the taxi you can at least see part of the city. Another thing is that we save time when using the taxi because the transfers sometimes took longer, plus when we were carrying the luggage, it was stressful and strenuous with kids.Show moreThe Dragon Trip commented on this reviewHey M, Thanks for your review of the 12-Day Japan Family Adventure. Asked on May 18th, 20251. The website says 'Fully guided (experienced guide the entire tour)' but in the 'What's included' section is says 'Guide on specified days (6 days)' which is half of the tour! 2. The 'Accommodation' section says 'in 3-star hotels in twin/double rooms'. Do they have a private bathroom? 3. TourRadar offers the lead traveler (the person who booked) a free 1GB eSIM for the trip. Even if I booked it, could I not allow my husband to get the eSIM? 4. Many tours offer daily breakfast. Does this tour not offer ANY breakfasts at all? 5. At the top of the page it says 'Start and end in Tokyo', but on Day 12 it says 'hop on the bullet train back to Tokyo and fly home from there. We can arrange transfers at an extra cost.' Is the cost of the train included? 6. On Day-2, is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building included? 7. On Day-3: a. it says 'wander through the forest until you reach the Meiji Shrine.' Is the Meiji shrine included or not? It's not mentioned in the exclusions nor in the inclusions. b. is Harajuku included with the guide or not? The way the paragraph is written is not 100% clear. Or does the guide just take us to the place and tell us to be back by X-time? c. is Shibuya Crossing included with the guide or not? 8. On Day-4: a. Is Akihabara, Japan's 'Electric Town' included or not? b. Is Asakusa / Sensō-Ji temple included or not? 9. On Day-5: a. Do you refer to the Ryokan as a hostel? b. Is a bath in the Onsen included? c. The 'Accommodation' section says 'your stay in Hakone will be in a family room (all in one room on futon beds) in a ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel). Does this mean that if there's 14 people in the tour the 14 people are sleeping in the same room? 10. On Day-7: a. Is the Hiroshima Peace Park included or not? The What's not included section shows 'Hiroshima Peace Park200 yen/2 USD' b. It says 'This evening, make your way back to the hostel to enjoy a free evening.' Is the ryokan the same as a hostel? 11. On Day-9: a. Is Kiyomizu Dera temple included or not? b. Is the Arashiyama's bamboo forest included or not? c. Is the Tenryu-Ji Temple included or not? 12. On Day-10: a. Is Fushimi Inari Shrine included or not? b. Is Pontocho Alley included or not? 13. On Day-11: a. Is transportation included in the Osaka Castle tour? b. How long is this tour? How much is the tour? c. Does it depart from Kyoto?

1. We've updated the tour description to partially guided. 2. Yes, the accommodations will have a private bathroom. 3. From my personal experience, you'd typically have an activation code so you should be able to activate it on any phone. 4. No, this tour does not include any meals apart from the sushi making class. 5. The tour finishes in Kyoto but with the included JR pass you can take a train back to Tokyo. 6. The visit to the top of the Tokyo Metropolitan building is included and you'll have a chance to enjoy views of the Tokyo skyline. 7. Visits to Meji shrine, Harajuku and Shibuya are included and guided. You will have free time on your own after this. 8. The visit to the Electric Town is included but it will not be guided and the games will not be included. Likewise visit to the Sensō-Ji will not be guided. 9. It will be a hotel with traditional ryokan-style beds and an onsen. We typically use Hotel Green Plaza or a similar accommodation. The onsen visit is included. No, it will be a room for your family in a traditional style room. 10. The visit to the Horishima Peace Museum is included. We will use Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi or a similar accommodation. 11. Yes, it is included. The Tenryu-Ji and bamboo forest is included. 12. Fushimi Inari Shrine is included. Pontocho Alley tour is optional and would be independent. 13. You will have the JR pass so the transport from Kyoto is included in the tour. It is a free day so the duration of the tour and the activities you do would depend on what you want to do.

Asked on April 13th, 2025Looking for a tour for a 65 year old female that's slower paced due to knee issues can't do stairs well that is going to Tokyo, My Fuji, Kyoto, koyosan, Osaka
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2025
All of our Japan tours include quite a lot of walking of 15,000-20,000 steps per day with a lot of stairs on some of the days. Unfortunately, I don't think out tours would be suitable and I would try to find an operator that offers covers the destinations with a private vehicle.
