Arrival
You'll arrive whenever works for your schedule, and there won't be any organized activities until evening. Later that day, there's a welcome meeting where you'll get to know your tour leader and the rest of the group.

Colombo to Kandy
A private vehicle takes you toward Kandy, and you'll stop at a spice plantation along the route to see how various spices are grown and processed. Lunch happens at the Sthree Craft Shop and Café, which supports local artisans. After eating, you'll head to the Temple of the Tooth, one of the most important religious sites in the country.

Kandy
This day is yours to spend however you like around Kandy. Walk through the city on your own, check out shops and local restaurants, or relax and take things slow.

Kandy to Ella
By private vehicle, you'll travel to Nuwara Eliya, a historic town where you can wander around during some free time. From there, the drive continues through rolling green valleys to the Ella area. You'll spend two nights at AMBA estate, which is an organic farm and guest house supported by G Adventures.

Landmarks AMBA Estate - Day 5
Ella
Start early with a guided tour of the tea plantation to learn how one of Sri Lanka's major exports is grown and harvested, then you'll taste different varieties of tea. The rest of the day is free for hiking up to Ella Rock or taking a tuk tuk into town to explore. By evening, there's a cooking demonstration where you'll see how to make traditional homestyle Sri Lankan dishes.

Ella to Udawalawe
After breakfast at AMBA (prepared on site using farm ingredients), you'll be driven to Udawalawe National Park. In the afternoon, you'll go on a wildlife safari where you might spot elephants, deer, buffalo, and various birds.

Landmarks Udawalawe National Park - Day 7
Udawalawe to Galle to Unawatuna
You'll transfer from Udawalawe to Galle, where there's a tour of the historic fort and the city itself. Later, you'll head south to Unawatuna, a coastal town that serves as your base for the next part of the journey.

Unawatuna to Mirissa
The morning is relaxed in Unawatuna so you can enjoy the beach or explore the town at your own pace. In the afternoon, you'll travel to Mirissa where you'll meet the captain and crew who'll be sailing with you for the next several days.

Mirissa to Kudawella
The sailing adventure begins as you cruise south along the coast toward Kudawella. You'll stop at isolated beaches where you can swim, try stand up paddle boarding, or go kayaking. Keep an eye out for dolphins and whales, which are often spotted in these waters.

Kudawella to Kalametiya
Sailing continues up the coast to Kalametiya, where you'll explore the lagoon. After lunch, you can choose to visit Kalametiya village and sanctuary, or you can relax on the beach if you prefer a quieter afternoon.

Landmarks Kalametiya Lagoon - Day 11
Kalametiya to Talalla/Dondra
You'll sail to the small surf beach at Hirikatiya where you can either catch some waves or swim. From there, sailing continues along the southern coast to Talalla Beach, with chances to watch for whales and dolphins along the way.

Talalla/Dondra to Galle
As you sail toward Rumassala, look out for whales and dolphins. Once there, you'll have an afternoon to relax on Jungle Beach or hike up to the Japanese Peace Pagoda, which has views over Galle Bay.

Galle to Weligama
Spend the morning exploring Galle and the historic Dutch Fort. Then you'll sail back toward Weligama Bay, where everyone gathers for a barbecue on the beach to celebrate the sailing portion of the trip.

Landmarks Dutch Fort Galle - Day 14
Mirissa Departure
The sailing returns to Mirissa Harbour and you'll disembark, which is where the tour officially ends. If you need it, there's an optional transfer available to Colombo Airport for your flight home.
