Very well organized travel experience. Fantastic meals, surprisingly nice accommodations - at both hotels and hostels. You always have shower, electricity and private bathrooms. All of the adventures (biking, rafting, zip lining—trekking) were facilitated masterfully and flexibly. The Inca Trek to the Monkey House and beyond had breathtaking views of the Andes. Our guide, Jonathan, made great recommendations to our crew- to leave early and beat crowds— so for each of our outings we were almost always there first- and by the time we were leaving we noticed lines forming. Your guide will likely offer you options- I encourage you to go as early as is offered. Jonathan, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable without being intrusive. His love for his culture and the local traditions was evident in the way he engaged us. He is highly accessible and will answer any question you may have. Our group had a WhatsApp chat going- so we were always on the same page. This 7 day excursion really had it all. This is the way to go- in terms of seeing one of the seven wonders of the world, learning about the culture, history and food of the region, enjoying thrilling adventures (physically), and meeting people from across the world. There is enough down time built in for introverted types- so if you’re worried about the social aspects- don’t. Insect repellent is critically important. Almost everyone you see has multiple bug bites on their ankles and exposed areas. This is no joke. Hiking pole was useful on the uphill…. Sunscreen. Poncho…. for Nov on (wet season).

Our guide Jonathan was amazing. He managed to bridge several gaps left by the tour company. We only received about 25% of the communication from the tour company. It ended up costing us our tickets to Macchu Picchu. But our guide was able to get us to the government office to buy additional tickets that should have been included in the tour price. Additionally, it was not made clear that our luggage would NOT be transported to the next hotel. We were supposed to carry our belongings on the 7 hour hike and the 6 mile hike. Fortunately, our guide arranged for our luggage to be transported to the next hotel (for an additional cost). That should have been included in the tour price. It is ridiculous to expect luggage (or backpacks) to be carried on these long hikes through the jungle. Another critical item they failed to mention is that while hotels provide toilet paper no other locations have toilet paper and you should carry your own. Carry hand sanitizer as well. It also should have been made clear that this is still basically a cash country and small denomination bills should be carried. I really felt ill prepared on the expectations fortunately our guide was well prepared as if this was not the first time these shortfalls had occurred.

I did the 7-day adventure. This one is worth it! It was amazing, everything was taken care of. It was nice to go to another country and have someone who already had great hotels and hostels vetted. Every place we stayed was clean and had my own room and bathroom. Packing tips: Bring a 28L bag - When you start mountain biking you have to carry everything on the hikes. That is 4 days. What I brought. -Lots of small amounts of Sols. Some places only take Sols and can’t break 50 or 100 Sols. The first hotel converted USD to Sols for me. -Swimsuit -Good bug spray -I brought a water filter and wish I brought a hydration pack (ended up just refilling the plastic bottles I bought every night by filtering the tap water) -Clothes are difficult to predict so layers. Other helpful hints you have to ask months in advance to do huayna picchu. It is worth it but time was tight. I think the average time is 2.5 hours to do. Plus you have to get yourself back to the train which is 1.5 hour hike down or the bus which is took us 45 minutes to get tickets, line, and ride down. For reference our huayna picchu entrance was at 10AM and we had to be at the bus station at 2 PM. It also is worth maybe taking an extra day or two independently or spending a couple of days in Lima. Make sure your travel insurance covers the activities you will do. Overall, I highly recommend this tour. Everything was great! You get a lot in this package.

This trip was amazing! Loads of great activities that were run by professionals and felt very safe (just make sure you listen to your guides, they've done it hundreds of times before!). Food was lovely, had a good opportunity to meet local families and see how they live/work. Lodgings were nice and clean whilst the tour guide was informative and very friendly. Highly recommended, great value for money and you will not regret it!

My husband and I did the jungle tour to Machu Picchu with Jonathan. He was the best guide and more than we could ask for. I have never done a tour just the two of us, but Jonathan made our experience one of a kind! On day one Jonathan started preparing us for the week, which was so helpful. We started the tour “easy” with a day on our own in Cusco and then the next day to Moray, the salt mines and to see the Alpaca weaving shop. The next day was even better with biking (all downhill to my surprise) and white water rafting. The rafting was fabulous due to the company we rafted with. Felt like we were really in Peru, not just tourists. The next day was our long hike, which isn’t for the weak. As a 42-year-old, not in shape, it was a challenge, but Jonathan kept a good pace with lots of breaks. Hiking on the Inka Trail and the stops along the way were amazing. We ended the day in the hot springs which I was excited about, but tbh they weren’t that hot and the mosquitoes were rabid. Santa Teresa was a great thought. The next day we did the zip lines, which were a lot of fun and then a 10 mile hike from Hydroelectric to Aguascalientes. This hike wasn’t as grueling as the day before, but the rockiness really hurt my feet. Again, Jonathan knew when and where to stop along the way. Of course, on the last day is Machu Picchu, and Jonathan was a great guide who took all of our timing into consideration. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, es

This was an amazing adventure. Let me say first off that I am glad the first day is basically a free day to help acclimate you to the altitude. By the end of the night, my head was pounding but the next morning I felt a whole lot better. The second day was pretty easy but we saw a few good sights. We learned about how the natives dye the wool and alpaca with natural substances and how they twirl it into yard to make anything and everything. We saw the salt mines in Maras but due to heavy rain and even snow a few days earlier the salt was more muddy than salty but still a cool sight to see. Chinchero was amazing as well to see just how they lived way back then and to experience walking through on the steps that had been built centuries ago. In Moray, they had these step like plateaus dug deep into the earth in circles in which they grew and perfected the growing conditions for crops. It was real interesting to see these even today. Day 3 was by far the best day of the trip. You take a bus up to about 14300 feet and ride or coast down the mountain on a mountain bike. The views are amazing. You are literally in the clouds and passing by streams of water all while being passed by passenger buses. After that is lunch and off to river rafting. Be prepared to get wet but it is a blast. Day 4 was an ass kicker for me. I'm 49 and in decent shape but hiking all day on the mountain trails was challenging to say the least but I'm glad I did it. We took several breaks and stops along the way so that was awesome. Day 5 We wake up and take a bus to the zipline and suspension bridge. It was also a blast but if you are scared of heights you might not be able to stomach it. The ziplines are very high and very long. The suspension bridge steps are at least 3 feet apart and towards the end they get even wider apart. You are always hooked so no real safety issue unless you don't trust the equipment. After ziplining we hiked for 3 or 4 hours to Aquas Calientes where we stayed the night in order to get up early for Machu Picchu in the morning. Day 6 It was a rough morning for myself as I found the happy hour in Aquas Calientes to be very fun and interesting with some of my tour mates. 6 AM breakfast and 6:30 on the bus to Machu Picchu. This site is breath taking and unbelievable to experience in person. Pictures do not do it justice. It was couple hours up there with our guide and then we took the bus, or you could hike back to Aquas Calientes. I think I was back by about 10:30 AM and just walked around the town and ate some brunch. They train departed at 4 pm to Ollyantaytambo and was a two hour winding ride. Our van driver picked us up and took us back to Cusco, another two hour drive. It was a very long day for two and a half hours of seeing Machu Picchu, very long. Day 7 Final day is a free day and your ride to the airport. I enjoyed walking around the town until it was time to go. One important thing you should know is that once you start Day 3 with the mountain biking, you must only carry a backpack with everything you need. I don't think they mention this in the tour info. No luggage will be taken. I highly suggest a good size backpacking backpack and only bring what you need. I had only a hiking camelback with some storage. I survived but it was very interesting. Bring a good size back pack! I cannot stress that enough.

This is the second time I returned to Perú, first I made the Inca Trail 3 years ago with the guide Edu, the hike was hard but amazing walking through the mountains, there are many stars to go up and down, but the feeling of arriving to Machu Picchu by the Sun Gate is priceless. For this time I looked to do the Inca Jungle Adventure, the hike was less heavy and supplemented with adventures activities like the biking activity, rafting and zip line. Many thanks at Inkayni team, and mainly to Edu, he is a great guide and ambassador who makes fun the tour and loves to explain each place we have visited. I enjoyed being with the group during the 7 days I stayed in Cusco, Machu Picchu, and other places.

The tour itself was great--exciting adventures, beautiful scenery and history, and food to die for. Our guide, Guido, took our experience from great to phenomenal. He was incredibly accommodating, patient, and knowledgeable. It's rare when you're traveling to meet people who make you feel like you're family, but Guido did just that. Definitely would recommend this trip. It's a great mix of culture, adventure, and scenery. If you're lucky enough to get Guido as your guide, be sure to challenge him to a game of Uno. Some tips: -Drink double the water you think you'll need on the hikes. Definitely recommend a water bladder if you have one. -Bring bug spray! (And sunscreen, but seriously, bug spray) -Try all the food (yes, even cuy). We seriously didn't have a single bad meal, including the ones at the hotels. -Quick-dry long pants are clutch for the hikes, even in the Peruvian summer months. -Sturdy shoes and merino wool socks are essential.

A memorable experience with Inkayni Peru Tours, the trip was great and everything was very well organized. Due the Covid-19 my husband and I were postponing by more than a year this trip, however Inkayni staff gave us all facilities to reorganize the tour for this year and luckily we made it recently. Since our arrival, they made us feel like family, we needed to get a local SIM CARD to connect the internet and they were very friendly to make a brief stop on the way to the hotel to get the SIM CARD. Also, they recommended us some restaurants to taste the Peruvian food, we made it and the food is delicious. My tour with Inkayni was fantastic, excellent local operator in Cusco.

I'm looking at the adventure tour for my 40th birthday. I don't know how to ride a bike. I'm ok with other activities. Is there a way to join this tour and find a solution without the mountain biking part (like joining the rest of the group later)?

I'm interested in doing the tour on May 10th. I tried to book for the shared room by myself since I'm traveling alone but it wouldn't let me unless I have a second person. I'm ok with sharing a room with a stranger from the group but is it possible that way or do I have to the single room? The single room is out of my budget so I won't be able to this tour if that's the case. Please let me know.
