Itinerary
- Day 1
New Delhi to Amritsar
Your hotel picks you up early morning for the drive to New Delhi railway station where you'll board a 6-hour high-speed train to Amritsar. Breakfast and snacks get served during the journey, so you'll have time to relax and watch the landscape change. The train pulls in around 12:45 PM, and your driver meets you at the station for the ride to your hotel. After you settle in and rest for a bit, head out in the evening to see the Golden Temple lit up after dark. The floodlit effect is really something to see. After that, you can grab dinner from street food vendors near the temple or find a traditional dhaba in the old walled city if you want a more sit-down meal.

Landmarks/POIs Golden Temple - Day 2
Amritsar
Start this morning exploring the Golden Temple when it's bright out so you can see how the structure reflects in the holy pool. The interior's covered in gold and silver panels, and the dome itself holds about 1000 kg of pure gold. You'll get a free lunch at the Langar kitchen, which feeds thousands daily. From there, head to Jallianwala Bagh, a somber historical site from 1919 where British forces opened fire on unarmed civilians gathered for a peaceful meeting. The Martyrs Well there marks part of that history. Later in the afternoon, travel about 31 km out to Wagah border where you'll watch the daily flag lowering ceremony. The Border Security Force and Pakistan's Rangers perform this Beating Retreat with a lot of energy and pageantry. When that wraps up, head back to the Golden Temple area for the evening.

Amritsar to New Delhi
An early morning transfer gets you to Amritsar railway station where the Shatabdi train departs at 5:00 AM for the return trip to New Delhi. The train pulls into New Delhi around 11:00 AM. Your tour finishes once you leave Amritsar station.
