What people love about Japan Tours for Couples
- Tokyo, Kyoto and Alps
Enjoyed ourselves. Great tour guide. One thing I would note- needs alittle more free time. Too much jammed together so little time to explore sites or shop.
- Japan Unrivalled
Matt showed patience while demonstrating his knowledge at every turn. Absolute legend!
- Essential Japan
loved it, a nice mixture of free time and tour time. Loved my tour guide, he was so helpful. You can book a group even when you are just one person (you are put with another group). I love this, I was able to meet other people. I wish I knew they have many tours going at the same time, and sometimes the groups do not speak the same language. They have a tour guide for each language so it does not matter after you know this and meet your tour guide. I would highly recommend this and other tours by this company.
What our customers ask about Romantic Japan Trips & Honeymoon Packages
When is the most romantic time to visit Japan?
Spring and fall are perfect for couples. From March to May, you'll see cherry blossoms everywhere - picture walking hand in hand under pink petals in Kyoto when it's a comfortable 54-70°F (12-21°C). Fall is equally beautiful from September to November, with red maple leaves and temperatures around 50-70°F (10-21°C). One of our TourRadar travelers put it perfectly: "We visited during cherry blossom season and it was magical - perfect for romantic walks and picnics in places like Ueno Park in Tokyo and along the Philosopher's Path in Kyoto."
What romantic dining options can couples find in Japan?
You'll find plenty of intimate dining spots across Japan. Try a private kaiseki dinner at a ryokan like Yufuin Sansuikan, take a sushi-making class together in Tokyo's Ginza area, or enjoy dinner at a cozy izakaya in Kyoto's Pontocho alley. You can also book a private tea ceremony or eat dinner with a view at Osaka's Umeda Sky Building. One TourRadar traveler told us: "The private kaiseki dinner at our ryokan was incredibly romantic and one of our most memorable experiences."
Which parts of Japan are best for couples?
Kyoto tops the list with its charming Gion district, peaceful tea houses, and beautiful temples like the Golden Pavilion. Mount Koya offers something unique - you can stay at Buddhist monasteries like Monasterio Hojoin for a special spiritual experience together. Hiroshima combines touching history with beautiful evening views by the river. Our TourRadar travelers often mention the "peaceful and intimate atmosphere of the Miyajima Island sunset."
What are some must-try romantic activities in Japan?
You'll love staying at a traditional ryokan like Kishigon Ryokan in Ikaho, where you can wear yukatas and relax in your own private hot spring bath. Take peaceful walks through Korakuen Gardens in Okayama or explore Kyoto's Gion district when it's lit up at night. Many couples recommend the Tokyo Bay dinner cruise. As one TourRadar traveler said: "the dinner cruise created the perfect romantic atmosphere for our first night in Japan."
Which Japanese cities should couples visit?
Start with Kyoto - its gardens, temples like Kinkaku-ji, and evening walks through Gion are perfect for couples. Tokyo mixes romance with excitement, especially in areas like Shinjuku and spots like Tokyo Skytree. For amazing views of Mount Fuji, head to Kawaguchiko. In Osaka, stay at Candeo Hotels to explore the lively Dotonbori area. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Kyoto's traditional atmosphere and Tokyo's modern energy created perfect contrasts for our romantic journey."
What are good day trips for couples?
From Tokyo, take a trip to Mount Fuji and Kawaguchiko Lake - it's about 81 miles (130 km) away and makes for a perfect day out. If you're in Kyoto, visit Nara's deer park for a unique experience together. From Osaka, you can easily reach the beautiful Himeji Castle. Our TourRadar travelers say: "The day trip to Mount Fuji from Tokyo was incredibly romantic, especially the lake views at sunset."
