What people love about South America Tours for Couples
- Brazil & Argentina Escape with Santiago
The tour, the tour director, and the hotels were excellent. However, we will NEVER use Tourradar again due to the misinformation that you gave us prior to our trip. Examples: First, we were told that we could not bring a second piece of luggage without paying an extra daily fee- and that the carry on had to be no bigger than 12x11x6. We worked very hard to comply with that strict standard. So, imagine our surprise and anger when EVERY other tour member had a large checked suitcase, a standard carry on suitcase with wheels, and a personal bag much larger than those measurements! Secondly, we asked 3 times (April 24, 25, 27) if we would be flying on Aerolineas Air during our trip. Three times we were either just quoted the paragraph from the brochure that said, "if you fly on Aerolineas Air..." or outright told that we would not. So, we were pretty angry when we did in-fact fly on Aerolineas Air. So we had to pay the extra weight fee. (If we had been allowed to divide our luggage between our large suitcase and a carry on, we would not have been over their 17kg limit.) Lastly, your brochure said that there would be headsets throughout the tour. Turns out there was not one headset an ANY tour. Many times, especially when we were on a busy street, we could not hear a thing that the tour guide told us. We paid a lot of money to learn what we could about these places that we would never visit again, so we were really cheated out of what we paid for.
What our customers ask about Romantic South America Trips & Honeymoon Packages
What are the most romantic destinations for couples in South America?
South America has some really special places for couples. In Rio de Janeiro, you can stay right on Copacabana Beach at the elegant Belmond Copacabana Palace. Buenos Aires' old San Telmo neighborhood is perfect for watching tango shows in intimate venues. If you love wine, head to Santiago's Casablanca Valley for tastings at small vineyards. Many travelers who've booked through TourRadar say watching the sunset from Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio was unforgettable. They also loved having dinner at traditional Argentine ranch houses and seeing Iguazu Falls from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides.
Which hotels are recommended for couples in South America?
You'll find some wonderful hotels perfect for a romantic stay. The Sheraton Rio gives you great views over Copacabana Beach. If you're visiting Iguazu Falls, the Wish Resort is a peaceful spot with nice spa treatments. In Buenos Aires, try the Grand Brizo Hotel in the fancy Recoleta area. One traveler told us, "the accommodations were excellent throughout, especially the Sheraton in Santiago with its romantic rooftop dining and panoramic Andes views."
What's the best time of year for couples to visit South America?
The nicest weather is during spring (September to November) or fall (March to May). You'll find fewer tourists then too. Rio is especially nice from March to May when temperatures hover around 75°F (24°C). If you're heading to Buenos Aires, plan your trip for October or November when purple jacaranda trees bloom all over the city. As one traveler put it, "We went in October and the weather was perfect for outdoor activities and evening walks."
What are the most romantic dining experiences in South America?
You can find really special places to eat together across South America. In Buenos Aires, go to a tango show with dinner. In Rio, try L'Etoile Restaurant - it's on a rooftop with amazing ocean views. Chile's Casablanca Valley has lovely small wineries where you can taste wines with your meal. Our travelers often mention loving the traditional barbecue at Argentine ranches. In Lima, you can have dinner at Casa Garcia Alvarado, a beautiful old mansion that serves classic Peruvian food.
Which destinations in South America are most popular with couples?
Many couples love Rio de Janeiro for its beaches and the Christ the Redeemer statue. Buenos Aires draws people to its historic tango area, San Telmo. Iguazu Falls is amazing for nature lovers. Santiago's wine country is perfect for food and wine enthusiasts. In Buenos Aires, the Sheraton in Recoleta has nice packages for couples. In Rio, try the Windsor Plaza Copacabana if you want to be right by the beach.
Which areas of South America are best for a romantic getaway combining culture and relaxation?
Try Brazil's coast or Argentina's wine regions if you want both relaxation and culture. In Rio, you can spend mornings at Copacabana or Ipanema beach, then visit places like Casa Aliaga in the afternoon. Peru's Sacred Valley lets you see ancient Inca sites and stay at nice places like the Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. Our travelers often mention Buenos Aires as a perfect mix - you can see the sights, then relax at nice cafes in Recoleta.
