Thank you, we have a great time and enjoyed the trip
- Short Trip to Petra
Our private tour in Jordan was excellent and we got a very authentic experience. Our driver Mohammed was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The Tour 500 staff helped us throughout, from organising Visa’s to answering any queries we had. We were very happy with this tour and would highly recommend
- Petra, Wadi Rum and Dead Sea 4 days
We enjoyed our time in Jordan and had a very memorable experience. Unfortunately, I can't give the tour a higher rating as there were many mix-ups on our tour and we were disappointed to miss out on many things. We didn't realize that Booking Tours actually contracts this tour out to another company in Jordan (Travco). The lack of communication between the two companies was very frustrating for us and we lost experiences and spent a lot of time on the phone during our tour trying to sort things out. Travco worked very hard to make it up to us, which we appreciated, but it was too late to make up what we had missed. Our driver, Ash, was phenomenal. I highly recommend him. Some of the accommodations were absolutely lovely, but then some were quite dingy. The meals included were good.
What our customers ask about Best 3 day Tours from Amman
What's the best time of year to take a 3-day tour from Amman?
Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are perfect for touring from Amman. The weather is mild then, making it comfortable to explore all the sites. If you go in summer (June-August), expect it to be really hot - up to 95°F (35°C), especially when you're out in Wadi Rum or walking around Petra. Winter visitors (December-February) should pack warm clothes since temperatures can drop to 50°F (10°C), particularly during desert nights. Many travelers choose May for their trips since the weather is just right for both walking through ancient ruins and exploring the desert.
What are the most popular destinations covered in 3-day tours from Amman?
Your three-day trip will take you to Jordan's must-see places: the ancient city of Petra, the red sands of Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. Most tours stop at Mount Nebo where you can look out over the Promised Land, and Madaba to see its famous 6th-century mosaic map. Some tours also include a stop at Kerak Castle, an impressive fortress from the Crusader period. As one TourRadar traveler puts it: "Petra was amazing and brilliant memories and photos. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore it all. Wadi Rum was a different experience and would fully recommend the longer jeep ride ending with an amazing sunset."
What type of accommodation can I expect on a 3-day tour from Amman?
You'll split your nights between regular hotels and desert camps, depending on your tour. Near Petra, you might stay at places like the Canyon Petra Hotel or similar 4-star hotels. In Wadi Rum, most tours include a night in a Bedouin camp like the Wadi Rum Oasis Camp - perfect for watching the stars and getting a taste of local life. When in Amman, you'll typically stay at hotels like the Regency Palace. One TourRadar traveler especially liked their desert stay, noting that "the family who runs it being lovely and the Bedouin tent cozy with many blankets."
What kind of transportation is provided during the tour?
You'll travel in air-conditioned vehicles throughout your trip. Small groups of 1-2 people get cars, groups of 3-6 ride in mini-vans, and larger groups travel by bus. When you get to Wadi Rum, you'll switch to 4x4 jeeps with local Bedouin drivers to explore the desert. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "Transportation was comfortable with an experienced driver who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the routes and locations."
What cultural experiences can I expect on a 3-day tour from Amman?
You'll get to know Jordan through its people and places - meeting Bedouin families in Wadi Rum, walking through ancient Petra where the Nabataeans once lived, and visiting local markets. The tours include chances to taste traditional Jordanian food and spend time with Bedouin hosts at desert camps. One TourRadar traveler wrote: "The Bedouin tent was cosy and we met some great people. The family who runs it is lovely and we had an authentic Middle Eastern experience."
How much free time is typically available during the tour?
Tours balance guided activities with time to explore on your own. In Petra, you'll start with a 2.5-hour guided walk on the main path, then have time to wander and discover more on your own. At the Dead Sea, you'll get several hours to float and try out the famous mud. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Managed to see all the highlights that we expected within 3 days, our driver was very flexible and could give us a little insight of local food and culture."
