Rome and Vatican City
Spend your first 3 days exploring Rome. Get to the Vatican Museums by 8AM to avoid crowds, especially during busy Jubilee years. One traveler shared: "The private after-hours visit to the Mouth of Truth was unforgettable - no crowds and such a unique experience."
- Days 3-4

- Days 4-5
Venice
- Days 6-7
Kalambaka & Meteora
- Days 8-9

- Days 10-14

14 Days in Greece and Turkey, incl. Athens and Istanbul
Twenty-two cities unfold their stories across 14 days in Greece and Turkey. UNESCO sites include Mycenae citadel and Rhodes' Old Town. Cappadocia's underground cities and Istanbul's Topkapi Palace complement stays at Novotel Athenes and Ramada Cappadocia.
- Days 1-4
Athens & surroundings
Start your journey in Athens. On day 2, explore the Peloponnese and stop at the Corinth Canal. Visit ancient Olympia to learn about the Olympic Games' origins, then head to Patras to see Greece's largest cathedral. Day 3 takes you to Nafpaktos' Venetian fortress and the ruins of Mycenae. Pro tip: Visit the Acropolis before 8:30 AM to avoid crowds and heat.
- Days 5-6
Island hopping & coastal transition
- Days 7-8
Turkish Riviera
- Days 9-10
Cappadocia & Central Turkey
Spend a full day in Cappadocia's unique landscape. Explore the Kaymakli underground city and Göreme's rock churches. Remember to bring good walking shoes. As one visitor shared: "The morning balloon rides over Cappadocia are worth the 4 AM wake-up call - book in advance as they often sell out." Next, travel north to historic Safranbolu.
- Days 11-14
Istanbul
Drive along the Black Sea coast and stop at Gökgöl Magrasi cave. Spend your final three days in Istanbul. Visit Süleymaniye Mosque early to avoid prayer times and take a Bosphorus cruise for great city views. Local advice: Skip the crowded tram to Taksim Square after 5 PM and walk or take a taxi instead.
12 Day Eastern Europe Itinerary, incl. Athens and Istanbul
Ancient wonders and natural beauty combine across 12 days in Greece and Turkey. Athens' ancient Acropolis, Thessaloniki's White Tower, Istanbul's Blue Mosque, and Cappadocia's cave churches create lasting memories.
- Days 1-2
Athens
Traffic is busiest in the mornings, so plan your main activities for afternoons. Book your Acropolis visit early - a past visitor noted "Watching sunrise at the Acropolis was incredible - get there by 8:30 AM before tour groups arrive." Your central Athens hotel makes it simple to reach the main attractions. You'll get a guided tour of the Acropolis Museum included.
- Days 3-4
Delphi & Meteora
The longest driving day takes you from Athens to Delphi and on to Meteora (430km total). Bring good walking shoes for Meteora's monasteries since the steps can be slippery. Remember the dress code: women need long skirts and covered shoulders, men must wear long pants. You'll stay in Kalabaka, right by Meteora.
- Day 5
Thessaloniki
- Day 6
Sofia via Rila
- Days 7-8
Bucharest
- Days 9-10

What people love about 2-week Greece and Turkey tours
- Athens to Cappadocia thru Bucharest and Istanbul - 3 FLIGHTS INCLUDED - Small Group Tour
I had been researching this route for a long time, but couldn't find the perfect itinerary, until I discovered this tour. We started in Athens and explored Greece, and after Greece, we continued to Bulgaria and Romania with Transylvania. We finished the best at the end in Cappadocia and mesmerizing Istanbul. You really can't find a lot of itineraries like this, and while I was sceptical at first, because it was my first time booking with the operator, I decided to take the risk and didn't make a mistake. Having all these incredible destinations in one trip, with three flights included, made my vacation seamless and stress-free. Everything was well-organized, and I got to experience so much without the hassle of planning it all myself. Highly recommended!
- Best of Greece and Turkey with 2-day Cruise (Small Group)
We absolutely loved this tour! Everything was top notch! We saw so much of Greece and Turkey. The Greek islands were fabulous, Cruise ship Celestyal was wonderful , the weather couldn't have been better. The guides in Athens and Turkey were very professional we learnt a lot and the best thing about the trip we have been always supported via WhatsApp by Eskapas company from the beginning to the end. We liked this follow-up. Hotel in Athens was 3*** but it was pretty well located in Plaka! In Turkey we had 4 and 5-star hotels. Wi-fi in the bus. We loved Turkish food. It is a vegetarian heaven. We loved every minute! Thanks again. Suzy
- Colours of Mediterranean Tour
Kismet from Fez Travel was brilliant and was responded with any questions super quick. Some of the accommodation was a bit far away from the action. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Overall a great trip with only 11 travelers which was perfect.
