What people love about Budget Tours in Nepal
- Combine Adventure Tour 10 day
I did the 10 day Combine Adventure Tour in the different places of Nepal. We were treated like family and no task was too small for our guide. Our guide went above and beyond for us to have the best trekking experience and because of him and adventure Himalayan we had the best experience. We did city sightseeing three Durbar Squares, and the twin Stupas—Swyambhunath and Boudhhanath which have been enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site as they are not just the treasures of Nepal, but the entire world. We did Rafting in Trishuli River and trekking to Australian camp.It was on of the best experience of my life and i would highly recommend for this Travel agency.
- Explore Golden Triangle of Nepal: Tour of Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara- 8 Days
I would recommend this tour company, they are very well organised and their tour guide that we had called manoj khadka was absolutely amazing, he went out of his way to organise and make our trip memorable, he just couldn’t do enough and was always ready to help any way he could.
- 14-Day Annapurna Base Camp Trek: A Hike to Remember
If you’re looking for a trek that’s both breathtaking and accessible to all fitness levels, The Dragon Trip’s Annapurna Base Camp Trek is it. I’ve traveled to 50+ countries, and I can honestly say that the views on this trek are some of the best I’ve ever seen—snow-capped peaks, lush forests, and the most unreal sunrises over the Himalayas. What made this experience even better was our guide. He was not only super knowledgeable about the terrain, culture, and history of the region but also incredibly friendly and supportive. Whether you were an experienced hiker or someone who had never trekked at high altitude before, they made sure everyone felt comfortable and encouraged along the way. The hike itself is challenging at times (hello, endless stone steps!), but it’s totally doable for all athletic levels. The pacing was perfect, and the sense of accomplishment when you finally reach base camp is unreal. Plus, having a group to trek with made the journey so much more fun. If you’re on the fence about trekking in Nepal, do it. And if you want an experience where you can truly soak in the magic of the Himalayas without stressing about logistics, The Dragon Trip is an incredible choice. Can’t wait to go back for another trek!
What our customers ask about Budget Tours to Nepal
What's the average daily budget I can expect on budget tours in Nepal?
Budget tours in Nepal cost between USD 75-165 per day with most tours landing around USD 120 daily. This covers basic lodging in teahouses or guesthouses such as Hotel Holy Himalaya in Kathmandu or Hotel Lake Star in Pokhara guided treks and some meals. According to a TourRadar traveler: "The accommodations were fine though basic but the experience and views made it totally worth the price."
When is the most affordable time to visit Nepal for trekking?
Visit during the off-season from June to August (monsoon) or December to February (winter) for the best deals. The popular Annapurna and Everest routes get busy and expensive in peak seasons (March-May and September-November). A TourRadar traveler shares their experience: "We trekked in July and while we got great deals we had to deal with leeches and rain - but the views were still amazing when clouds cleared."
Which areas of Nepal offer the best value for budget travelers?
Look to the Langtang region and Poon Hill trek in Annapurna for good value with lower permit costs and reliable facilities. Nagarkot provides affordable day trips from Kathmandu. From a TourRadar review: "Langtang Valley Trek was perfect for my budget - great mountain views authentic villages and lower costs compared to Everest region."
How much extra money should I budget for expenses not included in the tour price?
Set aside $15-25 USD daily for extras like snacks drinks hot showers ($2-4) device charging ($2-5) and guide tips ($8-10/day). Budget $10-15 for meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara when not included. A TourRadar traveler shares: "Aside from the trek cost I spent about $200 extra over 12 days for additional food drinks charging phones and tips for the amazing staff."
What essential gear do I need to budget for when trekking in Nepal?
Tour companies like Nepal Hiking Team often provide duffel bags and sleeping bags but you'll need your own hiking boots warm clothes and trekking poles. Find affordable quality gear in Kathmandu's Thamel district. A TourRadar traveler suggests: "Don't overspend on gear - you can find good quality affordable equipment in Thamel and many tour companies provide the essential equipment."
What's the best way to save money on transportation in Nepal?
Choose local buses for the best value. A ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara costs around USD 7-10 versus USD 120+ for flights. Many budget-focused tours like Alpine Ramble Treks include basic transport. A TourRadar traveler notes: "The local bus journey was bumpy but a great authentic experience and saved us considerable money compared to flying."
