Reviews of Romania Family Tours
- Best of Romania in 10 days
Romania is exactly how I thought it would be. A country packed with happy people always eager to help you, very welcoming and with a smile on their faces. Cristi completed the experience in a very professional way, explaining everything about the sites and responding to all of my questions. If you are looking for a tour where you can see the whole country and the differences between Romania's 'eras' you should give these guys a chance. Thanks Cristi, I kept my promise :)

From urban exploration to wilderness encounters Romania's diverse attractions keep families engaged throughout their visit. The Bears Sanctuary in Zarnesti lets visitors watch over 100 rescued bears roam freely while the Turda Salt Mine features an unexpected underground theme park complete with a ferris wheel. Children can try their hand at traditional egg painting in Bucovina workshops or explore the grand halls of Peles Castle in Sinaia. We were lucky enough to see around 100 rescued bears and our guide's knowledge made the experience perfect for the whole family."
What types of accommodation are available for families in Romania?
Accommodations across Romania cater well to families with options ranging from modern hotels to traditional guesthouses. The Delta Hotel in Tulcea provides standard amenities like air conditioning and private baths while family-run properties in villages such as Sibiel and Poienile Izei offer a more authentic experience. Late spring (May-June) and early fall (September-October) provide the most comfortable conditions for family travel in Romania with mild weather and fewer tourists. Summer temperatures can reach 90°F (32°C) in Bucharest while winter brings snow to Transylvania. Families interested in winter sports will find excellent conditions in the Carpathian Mountains near Brasov from December through March. One winter visitor noted: "Romania is a beautiful country and this holiday did exceed our expectations. In February everywhere is covered in snow."

This '5-star all-inclusive resort' for bears hosts around 100 rescued bears from captivity." The medieval streets of Sighisoara with its clock tower provide an engaging backdrop for family exploration.
What educational opportunities are available for children during the tour?
Learning opportunities abound through Romania's historical sites and cultural programs. Children can discover medieval life at Bran and Peles castles participate in village workshops and learn about wildlife conservation at the Bears Sanctuary. Tours often include stops at the First Romanian School in Brasov and the painted monasteries of Bucovina where art history comes alive. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Our children learned so much about European history and Romanian culture - the hands-on activities at the Village Museum were particularly educational."
